Do nothing day.

Do nothing day.

I have a Psychologist appointment tomorrow which means three hours of driving so today is do nothing day to conserve energy for the trip. It takes me a day before and at least a day or two after each trip to recover enough to do anything. I hate this fatigue!

@Scream58 I hope it went well and you can rest and recover today and the next couple of days...

Re: Do nothing day.

@NatureLover The therapist took me through some breathing exercises which helped me get through the shopping. I was going to visit my son before driving home but then got a message that my grandson has tested positive for COVID so I came straight home. I have a massive headache this morning so staying in bed for a while.

Hi @Scream58 , it sounds like your long trip went OK...sorry about the headache though. How is it today?

Re: Do nothing day.

Hi @NatureLover the headache is back to my usual 24/7 pain level today. I have Occipital Neuralgia so have pain in the left side of my head all the time. Since the stroke I get an additional headache across the back of my head. Hard to function when I have both happening at the same time.

Re: Do nothing day.

Been there done that . Cant do it any more. Cant take the 6 hour drive there and back, for half an hour and if the shrink was having a bad day ,well I got nothing but grief out of it. Phone calls were next , not a great success. My shrink gets annoyed at what I want to talk about, because it is hate of hers. So why am I seeing a shrink if I cant talk about what bothers me. I need a shrink sometimes , if I let her go I might have a problem I cant handle, then I will have no where to go. No shrinks in rural areas and I dont find GPs of any help. Have an age barrier over 65, can only be seen by an Psychogeriantologist. They are like hens teeth to find. So suck up to your psych, they are hard to get. Enjoy your trip. Regards @jay2

Re: Do nothing day.

Hi @jay2
I am sorry to read the experience you have been having with your psychologist at the moment. Difficulty accessing appropriate and effective mental health support in regional areas is something we hear on the forums often, and I am sorry this is happening to you.

I'm hearing that you don't have many options nearby, and that your current psychologist doesn't meet you where you need at the moment. I can imagine that must feel really limiting.

I wanted to stop by to let you know that I am here and listening
