Hello @tryingmybest247

WELCOME to the SANE forums. Thank you for showing up and sharing with us.

I am sure there will be others in this beautiful community who will jump in to welcome you and offer support.

It really is so challenging knowing how to support a loved one who is experiencing mental health struggles. You sound like a really loving patient and supportive partner. There are some fact sheets and guides here that might be helpful: https://www.sane.org/information-and-resources/facts-and-guides

Have you got any support in place for yourself at all? SANE offers individual support through the Recovery Club, you might like to take advantage of the free one-on-one sessions and have a chat with someone who will be there to hold space for you. Here is the registration page: Welcome to SANE’s Recovery Club

I'm sending you all my best this morning.

We are glad you're here with us.

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here 🙂

Hi you can call me whatever you want as long as it’s not rude/offensive

A bit about me is that I’m obsessed with moths, and im going to a concert on my bucket list in October.

I was put on my first mental health medication at the ripe old age of 12 and the list has been changing but slowly increasing ever since, I am now taking over 20 tablets (not 20+ different medications, just individual pills) per day for both mental and physical health and no one wants to touch the meds unless they add something.

I have so many mental health diagnoses I’m just a walking DSM-V at this point and the list keeps growing still. Recently I had a first episode of psychosis and ever since they changed my meds my intrusive thoughts/images (OCD) have been so much worse. Won’t go into detail as I presume this section is not the place to do so, just will say they take up majority of my day. My sleeps been worse because I keep hearing noises and thinking someone’s in the house. Im also homeless and staying at my granny’s place for the time being so im not used to the noises this house makes which makes them scarier. Im also very socially isolated right now which is a big part of why I am here, I am part of other online communities (like on discord servers) and no one ever responds to me but then will respond to the next person to speak. No one is under any obligation to talk to me but I just wish they would. I actually message the most out of everyone in a lot of chats im in because I’m so desperate for human connection. Anyway I’ll stop there before it becomes a vent rather than an introduction.

If you read this far- what’s your opinion on filled doughnuts

Hi @rosesrblooming! Thank you so much for sharing a bit about yourself. My name is AuntGlow. 💛

It sounds like you are going through a really tough time, but please know that you have absolutely come to the right place for support and connection. I think so many people will relate to what you have shared and I can imagine that sharing your lived experience/wonderful energy will be healing for not only yourself, but also others. 🥰

What are your favourite moths??

And hmmm... I actually prefer unfilled donuts! 🫣 What about you?

PS: Remember to press '@' and then type the person's name, so they receive your tag. 🫶

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here 🙂

Hi @AuntGlow , to answer your questions my favourite moths are probably cecropia or emperor gum moths but I love all the classic moths like atlas and Chinese Luna moth 🦋

I have a mixed preference with filled vs unfilled doughnuts. I love me a good jam doughnut, but I also love ones like pineapple glazed and traditional cinnamon ;P

I should probably put my phone away and attempt to sleep because I set myself a limit of how late I can stay up and Ive nearly reached it.

I really appreciate the work you and the other moderators do, Ive read some other moderator responses and it’s not just generic or automated bs you actually take the time to read what we write and respond accordingly- which takes a lot of brain power at times.

Goodnight! I hope you’re not on all night and can get some rest as well

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here 🙂

Hi all,

recently a close friend has told me she thinks I have symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder. I have done a bit of research and can see a lot of myself in what I read.

Im scared to discuss it with a medical professional. It makes me feel defective and broken.

im terribly sad right now because in the past couple of days I became overwhelmed and said some things I didn’t mean. Now I have basically alienated all of my friends and I have no one left. I’m not coping.

then my 19yo said to me I love you mum , but I don’t know what to do. You need to get help

i have no idea where to start. I feel like a really person right now, like I don’t deserve to exist

@Britney

I'm hearing you and how confronting this new idea may be.

There is hope. I see how much you have been reflecting on things and that you want things to change. You may be interested in SANE's Recovery Club: https://www.sane.org/recovery-club to help you along the way a bit
