Struggling

Struggling

Struggling at the moment.

I'm experiencing a combination of depression and anxiety bringing up all sorts of negative memories. Mistakes I made and opportunities I failed to take up.

It's making me feel unwell, jittery, hopeless, painfully uncomfortable and unable to rest.

I'm not even sure I will post this but at least it gives me something to focus on in the moment.

I know other people have real problems. When I look at my life objectively I feel like a fraud. I'm weak and lazy.

Like why can't I just start doing something meaningful to relieve the anxiety?

Every little thing seems too hard, too much for me to handle.

I'm overwhelmed.

I have so many excuses to NOT participate in everyday life.

Yes I have diagnoses but I also receive ongoing treatment for them.

I should be doing better.

Re: Struggling

Cat is sitting on the back of the sofa behind me and meowing... he's had dinner and a brushing and now i think he just wants attention. Or maybe it's because I haven't turned the heater on yet.

Thanks for being here. @Dimity @Appleblossom

Feeling hopeless and pathetic, not sure why.

@RedHorse

You posted about looking forward to seeing your beloved daughter. I can understand your off-grid way of life tends to be a bit isolated and you are that interesting in "presenting" yourself. Getting there is important and you can do what you need to spruce up, even visit barber, if that is what you want. Maybe it feels like a lot is riding on the trip. As a daughter who lost her dad young. Be there for yours. Find a line of authenticity with her without scaring her too much. Sometimes dark humour and shows can help bridge those kind of feelings. I have found they even have a name for the genre ... traumedy.

Its important you are making the effort and can be there.

Best wishes with it all.

Re: Struggling

Cat sounds like quite the task master @Dimity and great company. Perhaps I'm lonely, stressing over trip.

Time for a cuppa @RedHorse? Have you eaten yet? I had leftover butter chicken, but am usually veggo.

Oooops @RedHorse

Did I make a gender assumption?

You're a woman doing offgrid?

All the more power to you. I am not even up to driving a 4wd.

Yeah the presentation thing with women is seen as more important.

Stand tall by your values.

Be that mamma bear.

Our messages crossed in the ether @RedHorse

Accepting that you're stressed and you're dealing with it... and yes that you're lonely... I have no answers but can empathise.

Yes the cat is good company but since his feline confrere passed away last year he's been a lot more demanding.

Re: Struggling

A cuppa sounds like a good idea @Dimity but I can't get the energy up to go out and make one. Am also feeling a bit fearful atm, weird. Will share a virtual cuppa with you ☕

Re: Struggling

Breath the fear @RedHorse . I saw Petrichor posted a day or two ago about confronting the fear of an interstate flight... you might like to look it up. It was a new thread.

Anxiety is more problematic than depression IMHO... the physical sensations are so unpleasant.

Do you like classical music? I find Bach clears my head.

Greetings @Appleblossom good to see you.
