2022

2022

This year will be different to last

I have some plans in the making and a lot will happen and change.

I nearly had a panic attack tonight but avoided it entirely by thinking through what needed to be done in the immediate future. So I did exactly what I knew I needed to. And left it there.

I also fixed my mattress for a temp fix before I get the new one.

There's always so much on my mind. So much I want and need.

But I know the strides I made last year will push me forward.

Just need to set a routine and be stringent. But also not hard on myself.

Its hard for me socially atm so I take what I can.

Dating - I have no idea and to be honest I'm okay with that. I have some apps but I will ween myself away from it. I'm open minded enough. Thatll do for now.

Now it's bed time.

Talk tomorrow

Wonmdered what you thought of this.

Why I love Great Britain?.

I used to be an anglophile, but am less enamoured these days, even the BBC has gone downhill.

Re: 2022

anything small like that can usually fix it. Rather than buy a new phone cover, i just used shoe glue to fix the one i have. Also had to attach a magnet to it. As my phone now only charges on the wireless thing ever since a grain of sand got into the USB port.
sometimes its far more cost effective to fix things ourselves

yes - agreed with you re: stated not assumed. Seen that happen too many times and people get hurt.

Hey @Appleblossom

I actually just started his personality course. I did the understand myself questionare again the other day. I'm surprised at my resuts. I've done it three times over 3 years and I've changed for the better. I'm far less nuerotic, less disagreeable and far more open now. In many respects down by 10 percentiles.

We are such curious creatures aren't we?

Will give this a watch now my friend

Hey Apple @Appleblossom
I find Jordan Peterson fascinating. People give him all sorts of hate and praise. Can't think of a more divisive figure in this day and age who isn't a politician or a media pundit.
He mentioned there the young male audience (sometimes attibuted to bad for some reason known unto god). I've met some males who hate him because he is "pro marriage" which comes from the depths of reddit internet subcultures (like incels and MGTOW or similar).

I like how he mentions atheists in that video too - these days I'm more and more convinced of my agnostic/atheist stance. I believe this comes from my negative experience in religious institutions (re: Frued and suppression of the natural). But also from philosophical and logical steps I took.

The history of Great Britain is fascinating. Even just England. How it came to form itself from the smaller kingdoms (Wessex. Anglia etc) then became England and essentially formed its own royal history that has lasted over 1000 years. I'm still firmly a republican when it comes to Australia. I can't be convinced that having an unelected head of state from another country is something a mature, self governing country can have. None of that removes history either - we still have that link to the UK. Can still be in the Commonwealth (India for example).

The structure of representation is pretty good too - that we inheretted from the UK system - but we did improve on it at some level - our upper houses are elected whereas theirs is not. The fact the Americans inherited that system and kept it even after a revolution too....

BBC is competing with mainstream media - like the ABC does here.

New media is taking the cake in the end

thanks for the chance to spitball some thoughts

Re: 2022

You are right about new media ... but it takes a lot of time to find out who is worth it.

@MDT

Me too ... def a republican ... Aussie style ... not yankee style ... gotta clarify cos peep still jump to all sorts of wrong conclusions.

Spent 6 years doing Shakespeare and that helped me understand history, language and influences better ...

Its not being pedantic ... to notice differences ... between ... US UK Aussie Canadian South African ... etc ...etc ...

I think it is great that he attracts young men to thoughfulness about their lives and careers .... its bloody bonza mate!

When I first started in therapy trainaing and personal development ... it was seen as a known ... that men were not as interested ... not true apparently ... a lot depends on how it is presented

Was annoyed by lobster girl calling out feminism ... to disrupt

If she was going to engage with intellect I would have been more impressed.

Oh dear ... feminism ... as a word does not seem to mean the same thing as it did when I was at uni..I never signed up as card carrying ... commie, socialist, liberal, fem ... anything ... but was glad I was taught to think ...

Wish there was less polarisation along sex and many other issues. Remember that when you are dating ...

...

nevertheless ... I like JP ... tho he gets away with a lot of socially acceptable expression of anger ....which seems unfair ... as some people express a mini bleep ... and get in trouble.

Great to chat Hams

Re: 2022

Was go na go to a walking group again from last week.
Decided against it.
Need time to myself to focus and maybe even just do very little.
Work is a very social environment which is good, but as an introvert I need my space and my time
I was feeling very apprehensive about going tonight so have decided not to now.

I like chatting with thoughtful people who care

@MDT

In this

JP says

'Free speech is indistinguisable from thought ...'

I wish that had been true in my life ... not possible for me to speak my mind ... then very worried lately when I finally do and let it all out.

then

'thought is literally the process ... which consciousness makes adjustments to our presumptions ..."

Love introverts btw.

but some expression is good.
