Welcome and getting started

Introduction

Hello. I am new. I was wondering if this is for younger people. When you get to be older, retirement age, I get the impression that society thinks you should have it all together and you become a bit invisible. I have had Dysthemia for a long time with a few bouts of major depression over the decades, then in between things can be peaceful and positive for a while. I'm kind of resigned to the idea that this is as good as it gets.

Hi Beads

I have dysthymia. I'm having a bout of major depression. I'm almost at retirement age.

I want to better but it can be so overwhelming. What do you do to pull yourself out of depression ?

Re: Introduction

Hi @Beads, I'm only 36 but my biggest fear is of getting old and suffering more than I am now. I've got a permanent disability, a number of mental health issues and am struggling to cope. God help us when I turn 50! I don't know what will become of me. I'm just living each day as it comes.
