Daily Check In Space

Daily Check In Space

Hi Friends, Family and Carers

Caring for loved ones living with complex mental health issues can be really challenging, and the carer's experience can often be overlooked and/or difficult to talk about day to day. We have created this space so that those feelings, challenges and accomplishments can be heard, and to promote carer's wellbeing and self-care.

To participate, here are 3 questions for your daily check in:

1) How are you feeling?

You can use a scale of 1-10 (1= really bad , 10= really good), if you would like to.

2) What is one thing you have struggled with, and one thing you have done well?

3) What is one nice thing you can do for yourself today?

You're welcome to check in daily, or how ever often you need to! Please just remember to be respectful and kind to each other as each of our experiences are so different.

Feel free to tag any carers you know in this space!

Re: Daily Check In Space

My coaching session was cancelled (staff were sick)

My 15yr son tells me he's moving out in a month.

My lease expires before then.

My financial situation is unstable at best.

My chronic and complex health conditions make applying for benefits complicated.

But I went to the walk-in clinic again today and spoke about it.

So I started at a 1 and came home at a 4. Still struggling but stable.

Life is difficult to navigate without the right support.

I'm so sorry @Mazz_SA . That sounds so hard to deal with at the moment.

Re: Daily Check In Space

I have alot of referrals pending atm - they are all hitting me at once. I've done peer led counselling in the past - but my fatigue made me unreliable.

Hey @Mazz_SA ,

I hear that fatigue can make things so much harder. What are things you enjoy that energise you?

Re: Daily Check In Space

hey there @Smilinglady sorry to hear today was quite rough. it's difficult, especially when the abuse comes from a family member - is there anyone you can reach out to support you with this? you definitely do NOT deserve that sort of mistreatment. glad you got to spend some times with friends, hoping it made the day a lil brighter. sending you gentle hugs 💙

Starting today with a win

Best night sleep since I can't remember when. First time in a long time I can't remember restlessly ruminating on things I have no power to fix.

Have not left the house yet so will start with a 5 and see how the day pans out.

Today has been a good day

It has been a rough week.

Home after running errands in town and ready for a nap before joining Darling for school pickup.

Little man loved having me there to greet him yesterday, so that was a win 💙
