Covid laws and mental health

Covid laws and mental health

Will it be possible for an unvaxxed person with mental illness to survive in this new segregated society?

To earn a living? To keep a roof over their head?

It seems like our governments are prepared to go any lengths to make it virtually impossible for the unvaxxed to live.

What then for those who were already hanging on by their fingernails?

The authorities have repeatedly made it crystal clear that they don't want us to be a part of *their* society. So what are the alternatives? (Other than the obvious)

Whilst it is natural to be worried, and to be scruitinous of changes, we are also still in a period of great uncertainty, where it is not yet clear what things will look like for those who are unable to get vaccinated. Because we don't know what things will look like, we also don't know what kinds of supports and structures that will be put into place for folks going forward.

It is good to talk about these fears, and to have compassion and understanding for everyone's circumstances. I think as much as it might feel like there is a great big line being drawn that separates us into one camp or the other, that it's vital we are consciously striving to ensure we still look out for and respect others, and particularly that there is support and compassion for those in our society who are most vulnerable - vaxed or not.

@Wattleseed

Hearing you. Wish it did not have to be the way that it is.

My family is struggling severely with it too, and I fully understand my family members position, which is similar to yours. He is suffering right now, for his convictions

The costs of the Covid conjob are mammoth and varied. There are many ways that humans die. The guise of concern and safety seems false with so many other things at stake. It is wrong to hold us to ransom over it for so long.

@Tinker67 Good you support your family member. There are many carers like us, being totally stretched by this situation.

If the media did not want to put stigma on the unvaccinated, they should have worked a bit harder.

yeah, @Wattleseed I was already thinking I could expressed myself better. I'm not sure how I've got in the habit of comparing the rights and needs approach, the way I am these days. But I shouldn't be framing it like a competition when I'm trying to understand how they compliment each other. I've already edited the post to try and reflect that.

Thanks for the reflection.

My family has been making accomodations for the way I've been affected to @Tinker67 . It's one of the weird positive bi-products of this event. Care in a crisis, i mean.
