Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

Hello to All Members

This is just a place where people can catch up with Henry and others,

ask or answer questions

have a 'chat and coffee',

an imaginary 'joy flight',

just 'hanging out in the hangar'

{cleaning, polishing and mechanical assistance always appreciated},

to talk about any subject that complies with guidelines, available here > Guidelines & Info <,

or whatever else we might consider appropriate and possible.

Everyone is Welcome.

With My Very Best Wishes

@HenryX

The following details are just for interest. Though I was not able to complete flying training, the most exhilarating experience I ever had, on my own, was my first solo training flight in a Cessna 172

I remember watching these beautiful planes {in other livery, paint and identification} landing on the Brisbane River when I was a boy. They looked like huge Pelicans as they glided down onto the river.

There was also a Catalina Flying Boat base

Hello @Former-Member @HenryX @Emelia8 @1stepup61 @Appleblossom @NatureLover and all here, early rise today as I want to tidy the house so that once I finish work I can put my feet up and enjoy the surrounds. My washing is behind having not done any at all since my boys sheets. Just haven't had the puff.

It is amazing what a difference a few days make. So I'm going to get into it. I start work at 830 so should get a.reasonable amount done. Happy day to you all ☕💕

Hello @Anastasia , @Former-Member , @Emelia8 , @Appleblossom , @Appleblossom

and other members visiting the thread.

@Anastasia, Thanks for your note at the start of your day and the greetings that you offered.

I tend to feel as though I am being very tardy, because we, in W.A., are three hours "later" than many people on the East Coast and two hours behind others. So when I get up late, I am almost a full working day behind many others. However, I am often still active into the "wee" hours of the morning on both sides of the country.

As said elsewhere, I really appreciate the company of and interaction with members of the forum. I am becoming more aware and developing, through counselling and activity here, a conscious awareness of how certain issues have and still do, have a significantly negative affect on the way that I live my life and my interaction with others. That conscious awareness is allowing me to make, sometimes spontaneous and at other times, more considered changes that are gradually contributing to improvements in interpersonal engagements and interactions with others and improved levels of activity and productivity in general.

With Appreciation and Best Wishes for the Day and Weekend to You All

Hi @HenryX

The movie I mentioned last night was, The Fastest Indian. My post was deleted. Not sure why.
It's a true story about a man called Burt Munroe from New Zealand.
I am having a relaxing day. Nice rainy day again.
Hi to @Emelia8 @Anastasia @Appleblossom and others here. 🤗❤️

Re: Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

Hello @Former-Member

Thank you for giving me the reference to the movie, "The Fastest Indian".I will check it out.

Editing a withdrawn/removed post.

If you go back about a dozen posts from this one, you will find directions, in a comment that I posted yesterday, for finding the reason for withdrawal/removal, by moderators, of a post.

I have had it happen to posts that I have written. The directions are exactly the way that I have viewed and edited such posts. You do not need to edit the post when you have found the details, if you have no wish to do so. But, going through the process gives you more supportive information about what applies under the guidelines. If you do wish to edit and re-post, the process is fairly easily followed from the directions. It may be handy to print the "details for editing a post" if that will make it easier to follow while going through the process.

With Best Wishes

Thanks @HenryX

No reason was given. But it doesn't matter.
Humidity is high here. Just put air con on.
Any plans for your day?

Not much excitement here.
Washing and chores. Have to use the dryer today.

Re: Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

Hello @Former-Member ,

The weather is getting hotter here; 32 deg C today, following cool and stormy weather at the beginning of the week.

I intend going for a swim shortly, at the pool which is just across the road. My new emphasis on getting execise in ways available to me, given present physical limitations.

Also aware that I need to do laundry wash, but simply cannot let myself be distracted by the necessities of life 😃. But really, my capacity is diminishing and I need the exercise in order to bring myself back up to a reasonably functional level.

From your notes and those of others, I believe that it is wet and much cooler in many of the Southern parts of Australia.

I hope that the rest of your day is pleasant and enjoyably productive, @Former-Member

With Best Wishes

Re: Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

Hello , @Emelia8 , @Mumi , @Anastasia , @Appleblossom , @1stepup61

Hoping that the weekend will be pleasant for each of you.

My weekend will be a gathering tomorrow and lunch with friends. A swim in the afternoon/evening. Sunday, I plan to do some mechanical work and gardening. The "mechanical work" is really more a case of preparation. I need to replace the shock absorbers on my car. I have the shockies, but not the space yet to do the work safely. This may be an incentive, also, to get the motor-bike out and refresh myself with riding skills. While I have had this on my agenda for some time, I have recently been feeling more positive about the prospect, the weather is better for riding and the work required on the car may be just the combination of incentives that I need.

With Best Wishes

@HenryX
