Welcome and getting started

Addiction and BPD

Addiction and BPD

Hi, I'm 22 years old, living with and struggling with Borderline personality disorder, psychosis and a very heavy cannabis addiction. My addiction steams from using cannabis to be able to handle my own emotional swings from day to day. Each day is an ultimate struggle, today being day 4 of my sobriety journey and I've relapsed tonight. I feel like I can't live without it, like I can't deal with myself, my emotions or be in my own presence without it :((

Hugs @May22 ,

You are human. So am I. Humans make mistakes but those mistakes don't define you - neither does your BPD.

There is a brave, compassionate, talented person beneath all the pain. I'm ready to help you find that person. I've been through it, and I took one person to make a difference so that I can now advocate for others with BPD.

No two people with BPD are the same. It is about starting from whatever point the person presents.

Feel free to join our BPD community at Raising Awareness of BPD - Flipping the Script

We will be celebrating BPD Awareness Week later this week (from Friday).

There is light at the end of the tunnel.

@May22

Also so glad you found this forum. I've found it to be great- great people, shared experiences, informative...basically I feel less alone with this place around. I'm fortunate to have friends and family, but finding other people to whom I can relate regarding mental health is awesome.

I'm confident you will gain positives from joining 🙂

Re: Addiction and BPD

That's so true @StuF . The forums guidelines help members know this is a safe place to share their thoughts, feelings and experiences.

The forums have played a huge part in my recovery as it has provided opportunities for me to reflect on what worked and didn't work as a mental health consumer.

It has also enabled me to reach out to real battlers - people who have real stories to tell and the lived experience to share with others.

@May22 @StuF Here is the link to next Tuesday's Topic on BPD Topic Tuesday // BPD Awareness Week 2021 – Discover Creative Wellbeing // Tues 5th October, 7pm-8:30pm AEDT

I welcome you to join us for that segment.
