The magic of tidying

The magic of tidying

Decluttering and minimising. Taking control of house and garden, nurturing body and soul. I've read Marie Kondo and read a little on a related Swedish method and feel inspired. I've been a borderline hoarder and lived with depression for too long and want to take the initiative. Has anyone done this? Or is there anyone who'd like to try with me?

I've sorted my books and uni notes. I've decided to sell some furniture when lockdown lifts. But the other papers and STUFF in the house and the jungle outside have me beaten atm. Some mutual encouragement and support is the only thing that's going to get me through. I know I'll have to face some decisions like "will I ever use that fabric stash" or "how many books in the TBR ,pile is too many" or "where do I start in the kitchen". Boxing isn't the answer, it was a temporary reprieve.

It's going to be a contest between my commitment to getting sorted and the looming possibility of having to move and downsize for my health. Having control of my space will be a win in either the old space or a new one.

Setting goals. Celebrating achievements. Sharing life hacks. Is anyone on board?

Dimity.

Hi All @Dimity @Oaktree @NatureLover .. rubbish day yest, then I went overboard in reaction to it..

Anyway , am up now after sleeping all morning.

floor made me sick to look at it. (so to speak) have swept the worst couple square metres, spot cleaned w rag and dried w towel lol.

Took stuff to bins

rinsing frozen meal tray; going to leave food for cat that comes in yard .

Cleaned grotty spot near laptop where spilt drinks. Cleaned laptop screen and kbyd.

2 fave (read biggest) shirts had food all down the front, was going to soak , found more dirty stuff and made small load of washing. Its on the line now.

Feeling better for having had my little 'play' w broom, dustpan etc ..whoo hmm been avoiding shower tiles (screwing face up) maybe quick scrub and mop there for bonus points ...lol

.. is anyone else having issues w site ? when go to thread now, it takes me to oldest page, like its all backwards so page 90 eg is really page 1 .. also posts are showing up not in order of posting .. used to be able to bang them in anywhere and they would come out as most recent, today posts are staying where people put them lol

Re: The magic of tidying

Wow @TAB you've been really busy. Well done. I did 2 big loads of washing yesterday and vacuumed today, so I'm catching up a bit. About to head to the pharmacy and supermarket.

Hi @TAB @Dimity @NatureLover

Today I had time to clean with my husband out of the way while he had cataract surgery. I had the best intentions but I ended up doing a jigsaw puzzle instead. Sounds like you have been productive though @TAB , good on you!
