The magic of tidying

The magic of tidying

Decluttering and minimising. Taking control of house and garden, nurturing body and soul. I've read Marie Kondo and read a little on a related Swedish method and feel inspired. I've been a borderline hoarder and lived with depression for too long and want to take the initiative. Has anyone done this? Or is there anyone who'd like to try with me?

I've sorted my books and uni notes. I've decided to sell some furniture when lockdown lifts. But the other papers and STUFF in the house and the jungle outside have me beaten atm. Some mutual encouragement and support is the only thing that's going to get me through. I know I'll have to face some decisions like "will I ever use that fabric stash" or "how many books in the TBR ,pile is too many" or "where do I start in the kitchen". Boxing isn't the answer, it was a temporary reprieve.

It's going to be a contest between my commitment to getting sorted and the looming possibility of having to move and downsize for my health. Having control of my space will be a win in either the old space or a new one.

Setting goals. Celebrating achievements. Sharing life hacks. Is anyone on board?

Dimity.

Well done @ENKELI .

Glad you have some extra time @Oaktree .

I'm processing some news I got today. I might have to find space at short notice for a lot of stuff I've had stored away from home.

How are you going with clearing the rooms @Oaktree ?

Good drying weather today. I decluttered the wardrobe a bit and washed stuff ready for donation.

That’s good

@Dimity

We almost have it all done but we have another couple of days so we are taking a break. Probably finish on Tuesday.

Last week, when the home help came for the first time, I felt I'd pretty much straightened as much as I could. This week I'm realising it's worse than I thought, and I've been busy with appointments and have lost track of necessary paperwork again.

It feels hopeless.

4 weeks lost in the wilderness of hospital wards. Home now and beginning again.

Tomorrow my priority is the stack of reports and bills I came home with.

Wish me luck @NatureLover @Former-Member @Oaktree

@Dimity try to take things easy and give yourself lots of breaks.

lots of self care for awhile

dont feel you have to get back on top of everything straight away.

Re: The magic of tidying

Thanks @Former-Member @Oaktree . I think I'm up to date with the bills now. Yes I'm having to pace myself. 3 more weeks of strict limits on what I can do, 3 months total recovery time.

I'm seeing things differently now I'll have home help - actually I'll need to restart as it was paused.
