The magic of tidying

The magic of tidying

Decluttering and minimising. Taking control of house and garden, nurturing body and soul. I've read Marie Kondo and read a little on a related Swedish method and feel inspired. I've been a borderline hoarder and lived with depression for too long and want to take the initiative. Has anyone done this? Or is there anyone who'd like to try with me?

I've sorted my books and uni notes. I've decided to sell some furniture when lockdown lifts. But the other papers and STUFF in the house and the jungle outside have me beaten atm. Some mutual encouragement and support is the only thing that's going to get me through. I know I'll have to face some decisions like "will I ever use that fabric stash" or "how many books in the TBR ,pile is too many" or "where do I start in the kitchen". Boxing isn't the answer, it was a temporary reprieve.

It's going to be a contest between my commitment to getting sorted and the looming possibility of having to move and downsize for my health. Having control of my space will be a win in either the old space or a new one.

Setting goals. Celebrating achievements. Sharing life hacks. Is anyone on board?

Dimity.

things and really cheap, I do all my online shopping through them and there products are amazing that's where I get the storage containers from, and the delivery is really quick as well.

I have never come across Temu having not bought things using an app. I will check it out thanks @saturnzoon. Yes the Rock and Crystal Identifier is through the folks at "Crystal Council" You will see pale blue quartz crystals on the app. Click on that to take you through

Hello @Oaktree @Shaz51 @saturnzoon , @Dimity , @TAB , @StuF

Have just been tidying the kitchen. Had a backlog of recyclables which I was mostly able to squeeze into the blue bin. Had some cartons which I ripped apart and folded. The floor is now clear

The kitchen waste bin has been contents have been thrown out.

Have tossed out the kitchen scraps and washed the inside of the scrap container.

Got quite a bit done in the 28 degree heat. Am happy with tidying. Got to clean the bathroom but will do it another day

@Former-Member great idea! I have a bit of a crystal collection myself, I'll keep that app in mind should I ever need to ID any. Thanks for the tag.

Thats ok @Staffy_Mum I took a pic of a crystal I knew the name of just to test it to see if it was accurate and the image wasn't entirely clear but it correctly identified the crystal. I was quite surprised. Well it obviously works!

Well done on the cleanup @Former-Member

I really need to get moving on my decluttering. I know what needs to be done but I have no motivation.

I know I surprised myself @Oaktree I think doing the health detox today made it easier. I am on a daily detox routine until I feel sufficiently better. But had more energy today than normal after feeling a bit fluey from the detox. I will do more cleansing tomorrow. But yes I have those days when I feel so listless and unmotivated. Nothing ever gets done and you literally have to force yourself to do minor things
