Lonely

Lonely

Just so damn lonely.

65 kids all gone. Mum is 91 Thanks be to God I don't live with her. Her greatest wish is to have servants.

Being inlockdown am doing it all on my own.

I miss seeing my friends and having the freedom to have a day out. I don't often.

Hi @TFS29 @Lauralou @Eve7 @Lost9 ,

I felt so exhausted this afternoon and just wanted to curl up and sleep. Instead, I went for a 2 hour walk and said hello to my neighbours along the way.

Couldn't go in to any houses, but just seeing familiar faces was great! I was also dropped off triple choc brownies to various households - I'm sure that made their day.

Now I'm planning a birthday surprise. For my upcoming birthday (next month), I'm thinking about delivering food parcels and cake to people in the neighbourhood... I actually want to make it extra-special. Not for me, but for everyone else. Everyone has been so resilient. We ought to 'celebrate' for that.

Another thing I was doing today while walking was collecting lemons from the neighbourhood. Households who have excess lemons from their trees leave a bucket of lemons outside their property. I'm planning to make lemonade and lemon tarts for the neighbours.

This is what is keeping me going during this lockdown - helping others.

Re: Lonely

I love O/seas travel and have extensively but will never go to USA. went there as a child and my son had 6 months at uni there. He was so shocked at thrir ignorance and gun Culture.
We had only been in Asia or Europe with him before. Mostly Italy, France Austria and Spain and Slavic states.
People are so kind to me when I travel alone. I get amazing stories and shared meals, I pay my way. I just love the learning of other cultures

Re: Lonely

All my grandkids live close to me @Lauralou My hubby died a few years ago so I’m alone in that way.

My mum is in Sydney living with my sister and family. That would be hard to have your mother talk like that.

Hi @BPDSurvivor ,

How lovely of you to think of others and to celebrate your Birthday with others in the way you intend. I'm sure your neighbours will really appreciate your thoughtfulness.
