Self harm

Self harm

I feel like my thoughts are out of control they are around SH, am safe but am struggling with the thoughts I have been so stressed the thoughts are just coming back. I don't want to have my addiction to SH again. I want to stay clean.

Re: Self harm

Hi @Fluttershy1 ,

I can see things are tough with your family, and this has been going on for some time.

Have you spoken to a therapist about it?

Are there things you are able to do to make the situation a little easier? (You don't have to answer. This is only for you to reflect on.) For example:

- spoken to the respectfully about the kind of support you'd like from them

- setting some boundaries e.g. regarding the food you buy

- crisis planning coversations e.g. when I am ..... can you please....?

- what is it that they want from you, and how to collaboratively work towards this (if in reason).

Remember it is good to have these conversations when neither party feels threatened/triggered/heightened.

Perhaps having these types of conversations is a good way towards your recovery?

I'm only brainstorming some ideas as I don't know what is happening in your household. However, if it is affecting you and your MH, it is worth doing something about it.

No judgement. No pressure.

Just offering suggestions as your forum friend,

Re: Self harm

Hi @Fluttershy1 ,

When you feel able, it is probably good to think about 'why' it didn't work. What was your approach? What was their approach? What was your reaction? What was their reaction?

(As I mentioned earlier, these are reflective questions - not questions you have to answer here).

Do you have a pdoc you can talk to about such matters?

Perhaps bottling it all up is not too healthy? (I'm speaking from experience).

Despite this, I am glad you are able to release the valve of your bottle a bit here on the forums. I hope you find it helpful (even slightly) to be able to connect with people who have like experiences.

You are not alone. We are with you in this @Fluttershy1 .

I hear you and am with you,

Re: Self harm

I am feeling done this evening, just got tipped over the edge, family just yelled at me for no reason. Just because I was keeping to myself. They judge me. That's why I stay quiet. I don't know why I act so nice to them. When they just treat me badly in return.

Oh @Fluttershy1 that's awful. I'm so sorry you're dealing with that.

You're always welcome in this space, it's a judgement-free zone! You don't deserve getting yelled at
