Lost control over my mind

Lost control over my mind

Today was a bad day. I spent most of it in tears. It didn't really match my thoughts. I might think something negative for the briefest second and then ai would cry for ages when my thoughts went onto other more positive. things For many years I have felt like a group of people in the community have control over my mind. What I think doesn't seem to respond to my actions. I have tried distracting myself but it doesn't necessarily work. I feel these people sabotage whatever I do because if I am down or have made a mistake they make me cry heartily. The crying seems way out of balance to what I am thinking or my personality and how I would have reacted not the overacted response they give me. I could go into further details but I will leave it there for the moment. Is any one else having the same trouble?

Re: Lost control over my mind

Hello @Lost9

Thank you for your response, by which I understand your position more clearly. I believe that I can certainly understand the depression aspect that can be attributed to a range of causes. Internal voices that are abusive can, I believe, be as damaging as real abusive voices, but it seems, for you, that there is no relief, because they are coming from inside and causing internal conflict.

I looked at the resource poster that Jynx recommended. It seems to be very comprehensive and I do hope that you find some suggestions and ideas that will be useful for you.

With My Best Wishes

Re: Lost control over my mind

Hello @Lost9

At the moment you were crying you may not have been thinking sad thoughts, but I think it would be very hard to live with abusive voices/personas in your head. That in itself may be good reason for distress, or maybe a grieving of the possiblities in your life that did not come to fruition.

Both of my parents were diagnosed with schizophrenia and I was married to a man who had a few friends who also had been diagnosed. So in my weird world schizophrenia is almost normal.
