Covid lockdown self care and entertainment suggestions

Covid lockdown self care and entertainment suggestions

Hey guys

At some point over the last year im sure that we've all experienced some sort of lockdown. With the current covid cases rises in basically all states ive noticed many people unsure what to do with themselves.

So im wondering 'how does everyone care for themselves during a lockdown?' and 'what sorts of activities can you do to entertain yourself or fill in the day?'

For me i know if im sitting around bored out of my mind i go down hill very quickly so im also trying to find things to fill in the day at home when im not able to do much else.

So whats everyones favourite 'Stay at Home Activites'

All suggestions are welcome and none are ever silly!

Hi @BlueBay ,

Im walking with you! If you go down to the beach, let me know, and I'll "come" with you. I would like a walking buddy.

I went for a 1.5 hour walk today. It wasn't planned....it just happened. I guess it made up for yesterday's lack of walking.

I can't run, but I'll use my legs to walk while I can.

Any one else want to come along?

@Lost9 , as for learning a new instrument...no thank you. I've had my piano, flute, baritone, melodica days...it's simply not in me. Good suggestion though.

Re: Covid lockdown self care and entertainment suggestions

some more ideas:

-Paint fingernails and toenails

-give yourself a massage

-Get baking!

-Learn a new recipie to try out

-Read a book

-watch a new tv series

- Write your own book

-get organising- i love rearranging, and decluttering during lockdowns

-do short course- so many different study options to choose from and all online now too

-arts and crafts. so many options like knitting, crochet, sewing, cross stitch, diamond art, colouring in/crosswords or puzzles, painting, rock painting, drawing,

-talk to family and friends through other sources like social media or zoom to keep in communicaiton and help with isolation

-plan holiday. this doesnt have to be real. imagine you had endless money. plan where youd go, what places you see, activities you do, hotels etc youd love to stay in. use your imagination and be creative with it. Just cause your stuck at home doesnt mean you cant use your imagination to go to other places!

Hi @outlander

Thank you so much for starting this particular thread - it’s such a wonderful idea

I absolutely love learning and so during the lockdowns, I’ve been participating in some online professional development

Not only does immersing myself in study provide a great distraction, but I also feel a sense of achievement as well

Thank you so much again for creating such a great thread

Take care,
