Hi @Shaz51
Is it worth travelling the 120kms round trip to see the psychiatrist your hubby saw 13 months ago?
I travel 600kms round trip to see my psychiatrist and it really is worth my while. Just a thought. 💕🎶

Re: taking medication long term

I have been taking a high dose of anti depressants for many years, maybe 25 years?? I don't think I have survived long on a low dose of anything and I tried everything! My personal long term effects have been physical and involve the drying out of all the mucus membranes in my body. I now take preventive steps against all the drying out, including spraying my eyes and up my nose with a mild salt solution several times each hour. I started to lose sight in one eye because the moist jelly part of my eyeball started peeling off my retina and I could see stuff like black rain pouring across my vision! An eye specialist said I should keep my eyes moist or I might need laser surgery but I fixed it myself with the spray and have been pronounced cured. Other drying effects I counteract with drinking water, lip balm and sprinkles of psyllium husk (same as Metamucil) on my food. I have had no brain effects except some loss of short term memory ability. But I only noticed that because I used to have a very accurate memory and it dropped off a bit. My long term memory is fine and my intelligence is just as sharp! I would say your husband should just take care of any symptoms that he thinks are side effects and not worry about quality of life as a whole because it should be fine long term.
