Hi @ShiningStar
I can understand how getting through everyday is a struggle sometimes. And adding into that not having any energy would make it even tougher. Hopefully this message finds you with more energy 🤞
That is great news that you've had your MRI. Well done for making it through even though you weren't as sedated as you wanted to be. Have you gotten the results yet?
I am not in a good place right now because I've allowed myself to get extremely attached to my ex again. And he hasn't been treating me very well. Which is hurting me. I still continue to do my internet dating but there is so much rubbish out there.
I am a bit too upset at the moment to write much else. I have also had problems at work with my boss. But I think that is fixed at the moment.
I hope this message finds you in a better place. And hopefully by the time you reply I'll be in a better place too.
Take care of yourself ❤

Hi @Fireflyseeker
It’s so lovely to hear from you 💜
Thank you so much for understanding 💜 Things are still up and down and so there are some days where I feel ok and then there are other days where everything is such a struggle and I feel completely lost, overwhelmed and exhausted.
I’m so deeply sorry to hear that you’re not in a good place and that your ex hasn’t been treating you very well. I can only imagine the devastating impact that this is having on you and it’s completely understandable that you’re feeling so incredibly hurt 😪
The difficulties that you’ve been having with your boss sound like the very last thing you need right now - especially when you’re already going through so much!
Oh please don’t worry 💜 I can really appreciate how difficult it can be to talk about things - especially when we’re upset and our emotions are still so raw. As such, I just wanted to gently reassure you, that I’m always more than happy to listen to you whenever you feel ready and / or able to share 💜
I know quite a bit of time has passed since your last message and so I just wanted to take a moment to see how things have been for you - how are you travelling with everything?
Thank you so much 😊 I had a follow up appointment with the Orthopedic surgeon and the MRI showed that I have full thickness tears in my left and right labrum, two large cysts and barely any cartilage in my right hip and so I’ve been told that I have osteoarthritis. The surgeon was really open and honest about my treatment options which I really appreciated and so basically, I can have an injection to manage the pain, or I can have an Arthroscopy to repair the labral tears. However, although some people experience relief following the surgery, other people don’t feel any difference and / or the surgery makes things worse and creates other problems for them. And so at this stage, I’ve decided against surgery and I’m going to explore a few other options instead - like physiotherapy to see if this helps.
Please know that I’m thinking of you and sending heaps of caring hugs your way 💜
Take care,
ShiningStar 💜

Hi @ShiningStar
I'm so sorry to hear how awfully difficult some days are for you. Have you got anyone who can help you on those terrible days?
Thank you so much for all taking the time to reply to me when you are still struggling so much. I really appreciate it 🙏
I am currently in a better place than I was in my last message. However, I am a bit down today as I haven't heard from the guy I've been chatting with on tinder today. And we are supposed to be meeting for the first time tomorrow. But if he can't give me anytime today, I don't know if I should still bother meeting with him tomorrow.
I went no contact with my ex 54 days ago. I lasted 32 days and then had contact off and on. But he treated me like garbage again so I broke off contact. I have been 7 days no contact this time. But I find myself trying to run into him on purpose at work yesterday and today. Which I shouldn't do.
I'm so sorry to hear about your osteoarthritis diagnosis. And how your hips are really not good. You must constantly be in pain 😪 and the options available to you sound hit and miss. You must be relieved you finally have a diagnosis and know what is wrong with your hips, but frustrated with the treatments available. I do hope physio helps you.
Take care of you.
Hugs 🫂 🤗

Hi @Fireflyseeker
It’s so lovely to hear from you 💜
Thank you so much 💜 I’m really lucky as I have a few people who I can reach out to for support which really helps 😊
Aaaawww you’re welcome and I’m so pleased to hear that you’re in a better place 💜
I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve been feeling a bit down and just from what you’ve shared, your feelings and reservations about meeting him are completely understandable - I think I would have a few doubts too!
However, having said that, I think you’re incredibly brave to try and meet some new people! 💜 I truly believe that moments like these have the potential to create new opportunities and bring some other wonderful, exciting things into our lives - and I really hope this is something that happens for you! 💜 I just wondered if you ended up catching up with him (and if you did) what was he like and how did it all go?
Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear how your ex-partner continues to treat you so badly 😪 This is just awful and you deserve so much better than this 💜 Although I hate to see you in distress, I’m really proud of the way you took care of yourself by making the difficult decision to step away from the relationship.
It must be incredibly challenging to continue to maintain periods of non-contact especially when you work in such close proximity and so it makes sense that there are times when you ‘try to run into him on purpose.’
Thank you so much 💜 I’m really relieved to have a diagnosis, as somehow it makes the pain ‘real’ and validates some of my experiences 😊
However, I’m disappointed that the orthopedic surgeon didn’t provide any information about osteoarthritis or guidance in terms of the type of support and / or treatment (outside of surgery) that would help me to be able to take care of my hips and slow down the degenerative process.
And so, I’ve decided to create my own ‘care pathway’ 😊 After quite a bit of googling, I managed to find a 12 week program that’s specifically designed to support people who are living with osteoarthritis in their knees and / or hips. The program is run by a physiotherapist and they provide two education sessions, followed by an exercise program which I think focuses on strengthening the muscles around the joints. Although it’s a fairly big commitment (I have to attend two sessions a week) I really think it will help me and so at this stage I’m hoping to participate in the group that starts in mid October 😊
As always, it’s so lovely to be able to chat with you 💜
I hope that your week ahead is a gentle one and please know that I’m thinking of you and sending heaps of caring and supportive hugs your way 💜
Take care,
ShiningStar 💜

Hi @ShiningStar
Thank you so much for your lovely Christmas message. ❤ I am slightly embarrassed to realise I never even saw your last message. I don't remember getting a notification. So please accept my apologies. 🙏
I am so glad you found your own support for your diagnosis. How have the sessions been going? Have they been beneficial?
I ended up dating a guy I met online for 2.5 months. [edited by moderator] At which time it became clear he wasn't interested in a long term relationship. Despite that having been on his profile. I still remain in contact with him and we are doing a fwb situation but the sex is not very good unfortunately. But I really enjoy the cuddles and physical affection. Plus he messages me every day which gives me what I want too.
I am back in contact with my ex. I have accepted he will not treat me like I deserve so I am settling for only some of my needs being met. But we are not getting back together. That part of my life is over.
I am back doing internet dating but I'd forgotten how depressing it is. I really want to meet someone special but it took me 10 months of internet dating to meet the fwb guy [edited by moderator]. And then even then it didn't work out.
Once again, my apologies for never replying to your last message.
And thank you for reaching out to me even though I never replied.
I hope your pain is more under control now with your sessions.
Merry Christmas and may the new year bring you many blessings.
Sending hugs 🫂

Hi @ShiningStar ,
Just wondering how you are? How are your support sessions going?
I am doing well at the moment. I have finally broken free of my ex and his hold over me. Tomorrow I will be 100 days no contact. I am so proud of myself.i finally did it. After years of trying. The last time he hurt me was the final straw... that was the beginning of January. It's also helped that I was off work for 7 weeks recovering from surgical complications so I didn't have to see him.
I am still recovering from my surgical complications but life is finally getting back to nearly normal. I'm still on reduced hours and reduced duties at work though.
I am still doing my internet dating. And still not having much success. However I have been chatting to a guy for several days now. We hope to meet Easter Monday if he can get someone to watch his son. But he is a 2 hour and 40 minute drive away from me. But he said he'd drive all that way to meet me.
Anyway, I hope this message finds you well.
Hugs 🫂

Hi @Fireflyseeker
It’s so lovely to hear from you! 💜
I’m so sorry for the time it’s taken for me to reach back to you!
Thank you so much for reaching out to me! I’m still here, I just haven’t been travelling very well with my mental health and unfortunately I’m still not in the best place. I feel incredibly low, disconnected and exhausted. Everything feels too much and although I’m working incredibly hard with my recovery I feel as though I’m failing which is such an awful feeling 😢
I’ve also been physically unwell and although I’m feeling so much better than I did, I still don’t feel 100% and so I think that’s having an impact too.
Unfortunately, The Orthopaedic surgeon didn’t feel that the program I was looking to complete would be suitable for me and so I’m going to explore some other options instead 😊
I’ve been really drawn to the water and so I’m planning to start swimming as I think this might be really helpful for me 😊 Most of the public swimming pools close in April and don’t reopen until September but I’ve managed to find an indoor heated pool that stays open all year round! I just have to find a pair of swim leggings and a suitable sunscreen and then I’ll be all good to go - yay! 🙃
Oh of course I do! 😊💜 Please don’t worry about Christmas! There was probably a glitch with the system which would definitely explain things!
OMG!!! I’m speechless!!! 100 days!!! This is SO AMAZING!!! 😀😀😀 Absolutely!!! You should be incredibly proud of yourself! I’m so proud of you too and if I was there in person, I would give you a big celebratory hug (if this felt ok for you 💜) Honestly, this is such a massive achievement!!! I can’t even begin to imagine the strength and courage it took for you to find a way to leave the relationship and then to achieve a total of 100 days without any contact - WOW!!! 🎉😀💜👍😀
It’s completely understandable that you want to meet someone special and I’m so sorry to hear that you haven’t found the right person - this sounds incredibly disheartening and frustrating! I really hope the guy you’ve been chatting with can be there for you in all of the ways that you need and I just wondered if you managed to catch up with him over Easter?
I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve had surgery and that you’re still recovering from surgical complications! It sounds as though you’ve been through the wringer and I just ever so gently wondered how are you feeling now?
As always it’s so lovely to be able to chat with you! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead! 💜
Thinking of you and sending heaps of hugs your way! 🤗💜
Take care,
ShiningStar 💜

Hi @ShiningStar
So good to hear from you.
But not good to hear how you have been struggling so much with your mental health. Those symptoms you describe would be very difficult to deal with indeed. And I'm sorry you are working so hard but feeling like it's not getting you anywhere. I understand a little about feeling like you are failing after putting in so much effort. I feel like I am failing at what's most important to me... finding new friends and finding a special person who loves me. Every day I am on the dating apps trying to do both those things but keep coming up empty. That guy I mentioned I was chatting to ghosted me after 8 days of messaging lots every day. So we never met. I was invested and it really hurt me when he just discarded me and I cried quite a few years over it. It's not the same as your situation but I can understand how helpless you feel to improve your life when you are giving it everything you have.
Thank you for your congratulations on my 100 days no contact. I am still doing no contact. Although I sometimes imagine telling my ex a few choice words for all the pain he caused me and the time he stole from me.
Sorry to hear the orthopaedic surgeon didn't feel the program is right for you. But we'll done on keeping a positive attitude to exore other options.
I glad you were able to find a heated pool that stayed open. The water can be so soothing. I understand why you are drawn to it.
My recovery is still going well. I hope to be back to full time work in 2 weeks. However I am also dreading returning to full time as I don't enjoy my everyday job. And my boss still has it in for me.
Once again it's been lovely to hear from you. I really hope things start improving for you very soon.
Take care and hugs
