Walking for Wellness and Healthy Habits

Walking for Wellness and Healthy Habits

  • So I took part in Topic Tuesday this evening on Physical Activity for Mental Health. I feel motivated so I am going to give up my couch potato ways and start to make an effort to get outside to walk for exercise. I am hoping that I will improve my mental health whilst losing weight and increasing fitness. I am going to keep you updated about my progress here. Feel free to join in - the more the merrier! Maybe we can help motivate each other.

Could you pick a time of day for it @TAB ? Then it's only one decision, not a new one each time

Re: Walking for Wellness

.. agh . thats waht I used to do when I was walking with any consistency albeit not as much as ever had, bu ut .. and I forget, that if had a week or two off then, would need to take it easy a bit starting again. I used to be pretty consistent arond sunrise for years, I would just be awake .guess will have to try and sort sleep patterns or just set alarm Thanks @Dimity my theory at the time was then its done, later in day its just a blur almost like cant remember. Also dont have to pick a time like you said ...and .. just typing now I remember I used to struggle to do it if hadnt done it first thing in morning or at least before 7 say. I dont even have a regular track here, just variations on walking to shops lol

That makes sense @TAB. I should try to do my exercises first thing, they slip my mind. I usually walk late in the day, I think it helps me unwind.

Hi guys, you will all be proud of me today!

I got off the couch and went for a walk this afternoon. I was out for just over an hour. Some nice school crossing attendants helped me cross a busy road as well. I thanked them and they wished me a lovely afternoon. That was nice. I listened to my book on audible whilst I was walking, I also played a tiny bit of Pokemon Go. The problem was that I couldn’t play Pokemon Go whilst still listening to my book so in the end the book won. The weather is sunny so a walk outside was very nice. Might try to go again tomorrow.

@TAB

I just remembered that I can’t walk tomorrow as I am giving plasma and they advise you not to exercise.

Thanks @Shaz51

I rang the blood bank this arvo to check if a walk was ok and they said yes as long as it was not too far. So I went for a stroll around the park for half an hour. Listened to my book whilst playing Pokemon Go. I figured out the settings so I could do both at once.
