Walking for Wellness and Healthy Habits

Walking for Wellness and Healthy Habits

  • So I took part in Topic Tuesday this evening on Physical Activity for Mental Health. I feel motivated so I am going to give up my couch potato ways and start to make an effort to get outside to walk for exercise. I am hoping that I will improve my mental health whilst losing weight and increasing fitness. I am going to keep you updated about my progress here. Feel free to join in - the more the merrier! Maybe we can help motivate each other.

Re: Walking for Wellness

Possibly incompetant @TAB but how annoying not being able to rely on people for anything when you need it. Are you getting mozzies with a lack of flyscreens? There are so many mozzies here right now after the floods in Melbourne - you open the door and they try and get in. I had to put some lavendar essential oil on a cotton wool ball in my room at night to deter mozzies. It works. The mozzies never bit me in the night, no welts. As soon as I put the drops on they went away. I learned it from an aromatherapist.

I often feel it when/after I exercise @TAB I guess it's the muscles letting me know they're still there. Dietician tomorrow might tell me if I'm building muscle mass.

Re: Walking for Wellness

Well @TAB I've been working from a really low base myself but anything is better than nothing. Looking back I can see I've made progress so I'll keep plugging away.

Re: Walking for Wellness

@Dimity I'm starting from scratch with walking. I feel better for it. I am seeing a dietician in a weeks time. Its been a wakeup call for me with diabetes caused by meds. I hope we can all encourage eachother!
