Walking for Wellness and Healthy Habits

Walking for Wellness and Healthy Habits

  • So I took part in Topic Tuesday this evening on Physical Activity for Mental Health. I feel motivated so I am going to give up my couch potato ways and start to make an effort to get outside to walk for exercise. I am hoping that I will improve my mental health whilst losing weight and increasing fitness. I am going to keep you updated about my progress here. Feel free to join in - the more the merrier! Maybe we can help motivate each other.

Re: Walking for Wellness

That’s great @Oaktree

Walking is good. 👍

I only like walking in autumn and winter.
So far haven’t started this winter.
Need to get well first, if that makes sense.
Makes me feel useless not going for a walk.
Waiting for the local gym to open to give it a try. Can’t get well without exercise, that’s for sure.

 Rainforest I usually walk in. @TAB @Oaktree

Re: Walking for Wellness

Maybe it is an incentive @Dimity it’s great to have company for your walk. It distracts you from the exercise aspect. Makes the walk more enjoyable anyway.

Maybe when you feel a bit better @Former-Member you can start walking a little.

Hi @tyme thanks for popping in. I guess I am not purposely trying to beat my times at the moment but I notice it when I do. At the moment I am trying to build up a little bit of fitness.

For sure. @Oaktree I live near the beach and it’s lovely there in winter. Used to walk with my daughter. She’s moved on. Not much fun on your own.

Re: Walking for Wellness

Hi @Jimbo2 @Former-Member @TAB @Dimity @tyme @BPDSurvivor @Former-Member

Went for my daily walk. I did the longer route around the park. I downloaded Pokémon Go again and caught a few Pokémon on the way. My son is right, there are a lot of pokestops on that walk. I was hot and sweaty when I got home.

How are you guys doing with your walking/exercise?
