I got triggered and took myself to the ER late last night. I wasn't well enough to do nothing, but realistically, I wasn't unwell enough to be at the ER either.
There are zero after hours services for people in that position. I'm very happy for anyone who gains benefit from the 24-hr helplines on offer, but I've found the ones I'm actually eligible to phone to be robotic. Which makes things worse. Even people in mental health distress don't need The Script when they dare verbalise any type of distress, or scripted and therefore false empathy.
So I found myself in fluorescent hell instead, which was marginally better.
I'm angry, hungry and dysfunctional. But hey, I got medication from the most anxiety-provoking location someone who's oscillating between anxiety and dissociation could wind up at, so problem solved I suppose.
Hello @Anon4
I am not sure which helplines you use where you are treated so disrespectfully about open up. You ring the helpline to be able to express your suffering.

This is stigmatising.
There is a stigma watch section of sane on the website page.
You can if you feel up to it report your experience so that the organisation follows it up.
I believe you can do this anonymously or believe that you should have the right to do this anonymously.
Your experience leading you to go to the ER is exactly what should not be happening in this day and age.
That is abominable.
I implore you to write an email to Sane if you are up to it. Speak to them.
Use the energy that surged you to go to the ER.
What strength and conviction that took. You were not going to be ignored. You were going to be heard and acknowledged.
So powerful your actions.
So wrong that you should have to do this.
I want for you some support in advising you about all helplines as you mentioned "eligible".
@Former-Member
Can a community manager please follow up with this member and ask the question does she want help please.
Can we at least do that ask "are you okay?' "What can I do to help you?"
