Share a cuppa?

Share a cuppa?

I've just made myself a cuppa and would love a friend if anyone is around?

Re: Share a cuppa?

Wow that is such a great idea!! I might have to take that up with my partner, I find it really difficult to have alone time sometimes when you live in a home with other people. I definitely love my introvert time. I have seen online that some couples that live together have their separate bedrooms (not so much to sleep in, but rather to go to like you would go to your room to chill in) which sounds right up my alley. So glad someone else can relate! @ArraDreaming

Yeah that’s alright idea, if you got the space we have a really small house, my introvert time is usually outside, in the garage or in bed early like now @amber22

Oh yes that sounds good, you would definitely need a lot of space to do the individual bedrooms. Have a restful night tonight 🙂 @ArraDreaming

Re: Share a cuppa?

I'm doing well @amber22. I had a quite productive day, I've entered some lino prints in an exhibition in Waterloo. They chose the grsinier artist proofs to exhibit which was a surprise as I thought they'd pick the clearer ones, but it good because it confirms for me that all the work I did was good. How are you people going?

Re: Share a cuppa?

I'm very proud of a self portrait I did called "Self portrait working on a lino cut" and a lino print called "Battle made me" of a soldier just having returned from a skirmish.

@Shaz51

Its very hard when we want to help but things are really outside of our control. Maybe I was forced to accept that from a very young age, but it is still not easy with close family and relationships. It sounds like she is in the best place.

I went for a walk last night and ended up helping a 19 yo girl having a domestic deal with wounds. So not online. My son went on different walk and saw a similar event. The world is not a happy place atm.

@Emelia8

Glad you are going home soon. The main thing to break up the day would be food and rehab. Hope you get some at home support to help shop and do rehab at home maybe.

I have a friend who has covid, took latest anti virals and feels they are good. I am watchful waiting with her as she has lots health issues.

Hey @Abner

Congratulations.

I love Kathe Kollwitz linocuts and her topics often include war as she lived through WWI and WWII. Have you heard of her?

@ArraDreaming I am a mix of natural introvert and worked on extroversion, to get through life.

@Bow @amber22 Hey. Its becoming a busy thread which is good.

Morning @Appleblossom ❤

Mum is in the best place for 24 hour care

I think in my mind I am reliving the continual rejection from my father from a early aged until his passing

I am getting there, just sad as mum is getting me mixed up with her sister

Hello @Bow , @Abner , @amber22 , @ArraDreaming , @Former-Member

Ohh sorry @tyme , I could not make it on Monday xx

Hearing you @Shaz51 maybe something about boundaries of the self and the other.

Hugs

Sending love and thoughts @Shaz51

@Appleblossom I think you need to be both, everyone does, I’m extroverted around certain people or in certain environments

Re: Share a cuppa?

Hi @Appleblossom, I've been looking at Kathie Kollwitz' work, and I've realised I can use the war theme to externalise a fair bit of my CPTSD. Some of my lino cuts and drawings are of soldiers in battle and weary troups returning from battle, and because of the defamation I often feel very embattled, and often quite bashed around, and I like putting that in art... it's interesting that when I talk with friends about how I feel they'll say "Don't talk to me about that!", but when I show it to them in artform the response "Gee that's good, I feel that character's pain.". They even think it's anti-war art, when I'm really saying the same things I say when I'm talking directly about the defamation and the effects it has on me. So it's not about what you say, it's about how people receive it; people are in one mindset when conversing, but when they're watching a play, or looking at a drawing or painting... They're in a different mindset. By the way, I'm anti-war, but it won't make any difference because we're a warring species by instinct, and when push comes to shove, most of us will become violent if our own survival depends on it...and lots of people will punch someone around verbally and/or physically simply to make themselves feel better.
