Share a cuppa?
I've just made myself a cuppa and would love a friend if anyone is around?

That’s great, @tyme, we call those appointments “maintenance” in my family, when you move into maintenance phase with a professional it’s a good feeling but it’s also ok to need help not just maintenance at times!!

I recently moved from ongoing active treatment with my physio to maintenance, after a MTB accident, although it’s not MH related I feel like it’s similar, people ask me if I’m still going and are surprised I’m still needing to go nearly 18 months later as a seemingly healthy fit person but I just explain that (like MH) I’ll probably always need it in some form

That's a good way to put it @ArraDreaming ! So yes, I've been on maintenance appointments for a while now.
I just think these appointments are good so I can speak to someone who understands and can shed some new light on things. I also see it as a way of encouraging my psychologist. I remember that they are humans too. Imagine hearing negative negative negative ALL DAY... they also deserve some brightness in their day 🙂
In the past, I used to say that it is not fair if I take up an appointment when I don't need it. Then again, if I don't have these appointments, I may soon be one to NEED it!
Prevention is better than cure.

Yeah, I think you and I both know you can do your best work when you’re in a good place, feeling like sh*t is never the time to make a lot of change, see things differently etc, its just getting through the days and patching up some things, when you feel better overall you can do your best thinking and probably a bit more insight, so that’s why those maintenance appointments are so important, mental health isn’t just when you’re feeling bad. It’s something you have to keep on Top of.
That was a really long winded way of saying, I agree, very needed @tyme

I think it is so good for parents as well. Anyone with kids needs someone to vent to. Unfortunately, many don't make the time to do this.
Do you have professional supports you regularly see @ArraDreaming ? (no need to answer if you don't want to)

Yeah I do I have seen a psych for a long time, on and off different ones for many years but see this one once a fortnight or so at the moment (but that’s been a bit up in the air in the last few as she got sick, I got sick, she went away, and then I got sick again). 🤔 but yeah I do and I think it’s important no matter what phase in your recovery you’re at it
@tyme
not sure if you can tell but I have a bit more energy tonight than I have had for a week or so, full of words

I can most definitely tell you are in a better headspace. But that's okay @ArraDreaming - we all have good days and not-so-good days. That's the joy of MH!
The main this is that we are here for each other.

yeah, but having good days or not good days doesn’t mean you’ll be like either of those forever, I have been feeling pretty miserable the last week or so, and just because I’m ok today doesn’t mean I will be tomorrow, or maybe I just had a bad week and I will be fine?
mental health is fricken complex @tyme
gahh

Complex all right @ArraDreaming ! If it wasn't, SANE would be outta followers!

😂 SANE would go broke without us, and in an ideal world wouldn’t that be wonderful (sorry SANE, it just means everyone is doing well and mental health isn’t an issue)
