Welcome and getting started

Introduction

Introduction

Hi guys I am new here but just skipped over introducing myself and threw myself straight into the forums so let's rewind a minute.

I was diagnosed with Bipolar Affective Disorder in 1990. It changed my life and not in a good way. My mother said "now you will never do anything with your life" and my Aunt said "we should put her in an institution". It was right then that I decided that I would live the best life I possibly could with this illness. I since met and married my husband and we had 3 gorgeous children who have all now reached adulthood. I have been in and out of hospital a lot since around 2008 and somewhere along the way had BPD added to my diagnosis. I enjoy art and crafts, playing computer games and watching tv. I was working with a psychologist and we were going to work on childhood trauma as I grew up in an abusive household but I kept getting sick so we are currently on a break. Not sure if I want to go back to therapy at this point in time. Not sure what else to add so I will just leave it here. Feel free to ask questions x

@LeChuck

I wish I had the room for an orchard.
But alas you are going to have to put up with shop bought apples for your cider and pie.

OH my gawd @Oaktree . I'm just mucking the gravy of the hospital plate with an anaemic bread role,

and you trot that tray into my room. Nah . . .! set it down right er and I'll masticate it to pieces in short

time.. Thankyou my friend.

Hey, I cant believe this old Introduction thread still has a pulse. Thought it had been put to the torch.

How Old Chuckys form.. @LeChuck .. A Double diploma. Horticulture , landscaping...

Hope he still gets some saddle time in.. Meds they have me on are pretty strong in here, but I find it jars old memories. I think I had a double-ender once. Farm implement, kitchen gadget, what the hell was it.

Never mind. the mind wanders. Double diploma is a big achievement Lechuck . Pardon my manners.

So, I wonder if the town is playing the double indemnity card ? tonys

Have a beut eve

Hello @Oaktree ,

Chef, market gardener, orchardist extraordinaire.

Home grown produce with home made gravy from the juices of the roast moose!

Not roadkill I hope!

A gallon of apple cider. Washing it down.

Hello @tonys how does Meggles cafe compete with al hospitale food?

@LeChuckdid I read double diploma in what? My goodness you don't mess around.

Here is some background music for us to listen to as we relish the delights at Meggle's cafe.

@Sophia1 @tonys @LeChuck

The scantily clad barmaid sat in the Two Bit Saloon nursing her wine. The rest of the bottle sat in an ice bucket beside her. She was waiting and wondering… waiting for some action…wondering if the Sheriff would be called. Used to be this bar was pretty rowdy. A piano player played on quietly in the corner. Entertaining no-one but her. Will her friends return from their hiatus? That is the big question. Are there more adventures to be had or is this town going to become a ghost town? She picked up her glass and bucket and headed down the deserted street. She was hungry and she had heard that Meggle was serving Cowboy Casserole today. That was one of her favourites. She thought to herself that she could shoot her revolver in the street and not be worried about hitting a single soul. Maybe she should write some letters to her friends? Something to think about! Maybe she will wake up from her wine induced hangover and find her friends sat beside her.

waiting and wondering….

Re: Introduction

Well that certainly got me outta bed in in the saddle . . . And then I felt The Rns fingers tighten on my ear and the laptop tugged from grasp.

I'll come back when all the visitors and commotion throttle down. You know, they don't kick the visitors out till nearly midnight here. Don't know weather thats good or bad.

Keep that clobber on please @Oaktree Back later. @Sophia1 @LeChuck @EternalFlower .

@Shaz51 .. Close your eyes... tns

Hello @Oaktree your garden sounds vibrant as do Ur recipes

Always having good humour and good interactions with people here, thanks for Ur presence.

@tonys I am picturing u typing on the ward as I did, sitting on my ipad on my bed

I would watch shows and send emails and sit glued to the bed.

I'm home now and wheeling and dealing from the couch. But I can remember that hopsital with the laptop vibe.

I know uve been there a while and it can be hard but your optimism is always there.

Re: Introduction

hello scantily clad barmaid @Oaktree

would that be the same tutu that you wore back in the days when the town had visitors?

The piano playing needs to be revived for sure.

Have you finished the bottle in the ice bucket?

Are you still sitting on the stool? Or have you slithered over to the piano? Get those ivory keys moving with some rhythm happening.

Scare those ghosts away and bring on the town folk.

So how was your favourite Cowboy Casserole?

Best not shoot that revolver because your friends are on their way.

Someone mentioned indemnity card was that you @tonys ?

There will be one enormous lawsuit if bullets start flying and hit something living.

So back to you meggle. If you have woken up I am here.

What is on the menu for tomorrow?

Let's get some music in this here ghost town.

ps I have forgotten who I was in this Rock....Grey Rock??
