Gday
Gday everyone, my name is Billy, and I've been batshit crazy for about 35 years.
Took me about 5 years after my first "incident" to connect with the mental health profession, then I was mis-diagnosed, mis-medicated and mis-treated for 15 years.
Eventually I was correctly diagnosed with bipolar by a psychiatrist who was too lacking in confidence to be sure about it, but he told me to go home and look it up on the internet. I did, and it was me. So, bloody obviously. Why that took 15 years, 4 psych ward stays and about 30 docs I will never understand.
I've come here for help with managing symptoms. I'm pretty well informed and well researched about the illness itself, but what I haven't been able to be told, learn or benefit from other's experience is how to deal with symptoms.
Pdocs are no longer helpful - they're all either stupid, misinformed or dumb-assed students, so I've come to a place where I can hopefully get help from the experts on this disease - other patients who live with it.
If you're still here, thanks for reading this far.
