Daily Achievements!

Daily Achievements!

Hi forum friends! I've decided to start a new thread on Daily Achievements because I suffer from depression as one of my mental illness and that means it's often hard for me to remind myself that I do actually things in my day, no matter how small they may be. I thought forumites could post here a daily achievement or 2 so we can remind ourselves that we have done something good each day. It can be as big or as small as you like. Just as long as what you did makes you proud and happy.

I'm tagging @roses @Bow @Shaz51 @BPDSurvivor @saltandpepper @Daisydreamer @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @TideisTurning @Former-Member @frog @Sans911 @outlander

in case you might be interested as well as anyone else who wants to join in!

So, to get this discussion started, I'll post my achievements today which are:

- I had a gorgeous cup of tea which helped me deal with some anxiety I was experiencing;

- I paid my car registration which was due today.

See what I mean about achievements? Mine may seem small or irrelevant to some people but to me, because I have depression, these are actually major in the scheme of my life. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Re: Daily Achievements!

I went to the supermarket and did some shopping.

I made a guacamole dip with cream cheese. I'm eating it now with organic corn chips and it is really yummy. I was planning to make chilli beef tonight but it's getting late so I will make it tomorrow.

Here is my recipe for guacamole dip with cream cheese...

2 ripe Hass avocados

1/4 tsp sea salt
Juice of 2 limes
1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce
1/2 cup finely chopped spring onion

1 cup finely chopped tomato (or cherry tomatoes)

2 tbsp Gourmet Garden semi dried coriander

250g cream cheese, softened at room temperature*

Finely chop the spring onion and tomato.

Mash the avocados, lime juice and sea salt with a potato masher.

Add the rest of the ingredients and stir through.

*I used Liddell's lactose free cream cheese because I have a lactose intolerance.

Re: Daily Achievements!

I'm going to change this recipe because the limes are too strong/overpowering and the cream cheese is too thick. I will let you know once I have made it.

Hello @Arizona

You are talking about the guacamole dip, I suppose?

The juice of two limes is probably going to make the dip very sharp.

I wonder if some whipping cream or milk would soften the mix? But the lime juice might cause cream or milk to curdle. Maybe just a little water?

Cheers

Re: Daily Achievements!

Yes, @HenryX , that's what I was thinking. It needs less lime and some water. I would make it like this...

2 ripe Hass avocados

Juice of 1 lime

3 tbsp water

1/4 tsp sea salt

1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce

1/2 cup finely chopped spring onion

1 cup finely chopped tomato (or cherry tomatoes)

2 tbsp Gourmet Garden semi dried coriander

250g cream cheese, softened at room temperature

Re: Daily Achievements!

I took my Pug for a walk.

I bought myself some Green & Black's organic milk chocolate and had 45g (half a block).

I made chilli beef.

I went to bed at 11pm and woke up at 7am (and slept for 8 hours).

Also, I'm scrapping the guacamole dip recipe. I don't like it. I'm going to make an avocado dip with spring onion, lemon and cream cheese.

Re: Daily Achievements!

I had a shower and washed my hair and cleaned my teeth (after not having done it for five days).

I drank some water.

I took my vitamins and antidepressants.

I rescheduled two appointments.

I arranged to speak with my therapist tomorrow at 11am.

I contacted the manager at the bike store about my bike (I'm picking it up next week).

I think that's about it.

Cooked and ate it

Had hot bath and nap

Did some work for Tafe course, it's a bit more clear now what's left to do
