Daily Achievements!

Daily Achievements!

Hi forum friends! I've decided to start a new thread on Daily Achievements because I suffer from depression as one of my mental illness and that means it's often hard for me to remind myself that I do actually things in my day, no matter how small they may be. I thought forumites could post here a daily achievement or 2 so we can remind ourselves that we have done something good each day. It can be as big or as small as you like. Just as long as what you did makes you proud and happy.

I'm tagging @roses @Bow @Shaz51 @BPDSurvivor @saltandpepper @Daisydreamer @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @TideisTurning @Former-Member @frog @Sans911 @outlander

in case you might be interested as well as anyone else who wants to join in!

So, to get this discussion started, I'll post my achievements today which are:

- I had a gorgeous cup of tea which helped me deal with some anxiety I was experiencing;

- I paid my car registration which was due today.

See what I mean about achievements? Mine may seem small or irrelevant to some people but to me, because I have depression, these are actually major in the scheme of my life. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Hello @Arizona

I like fritata, it is relatively easy and quick to prepare, can use a variety of ingredients and is normally, as you say, very yummy. Pleased to know that you enjoyed the preparation and eating.

Best Wishes for Today

Daily achievements for yesterday (Sunday)

Um, let's see. What did I do...

I watched the 2002 Frida Kahlo movie.

I cleaned my Pug's nose roll.

I did my affirmations in the mirror for 30 minutes (not in one go).

I had a shower and washed my hair with my salon quality shampoo and conditioner.

I cleaned my teeth.

I'm proud of myself for doing this much because I'm very depressed at the moment.

Re: Daily Achievements!

I did it! I did my shopping today!

I ran out of food on Friday and I basically ate pasta and cheese for three days. It was horrible.

It was so nice to have some almonds and cherries, and a cup of tea, when I got home.

I also took my Pug for a walk. It was only for 15 minutes because it was very cold, but I will take him tomorrow.

I'm making a salade niçoise now, and then I will put a treatment in my hair (and have a shower).

I also drank more water.

"I deserve to be happy and I deserve to enjoy life."

Re: Daily Achievements!

I watched a documentary about atheism.

I read my Frida Kahlo book.

I made a salade niçoise for dinner.

I made a honey and mustard dressing.

I ate healthy food all day.

I took my vitamins and antidepressants.

I spent time with my Pug.

I had a shower (and washed my hair with my salon quality shampoo and conditioner).

I cleaned my teeth.

I did my affirmation in the mirror.

I wrote a poem.

I'm going to listen to my audio book now and go to sleep.

"I love and accept myself exactly as I am."

Re: Daily Achievements!

Hello @Arizona

I have noticed that you apply affirmations in each day, and thought that I would share mine with you.

When I wake in the morning, after taking some medication, I relax back and reflect on and gently repeat the following two affirmations:

"..my name..., you are a good person."

"I am looking forward to my day and what I can accomplish."

This is the start of my day. I reflect on these affirmations for about 15 or so minutes before I get up and ready to continue my day. They really seem to help me get started in a positive way.

With Best Wishes

Re: Daily Achievements!

Hi @HenryX

Thanks for your reply and for telling me about your morning practice. Most of my affirmations are from Louise Hay but some of them I made up myself. These are the affirmations that I usually do...

"I love and approve of myself."

"I love and accept myself exactly as I am."

"[My name], I love you. I really, really love you."

"I am worthy and deserving."

"I deserve to be happy and I deserve to enjoy life."*

"I forgive myself and set myself free."

*This one I made up myself.

Re: Daily Achievements!

I emailed my therapist and she is going to call me on Sunday. She is away on holidays so I appreciate her calling me.

I phoned the chemist and arranged to have my prescription made up for me to come in and pick up tomorrow.
