Daily Achievements!

Daily Achievements!

Hi forum friends! I've decided to start a new thread on Daily Achievements because I suffer from depression as one of my mental illness and that means it's often hard for me to remind myself that I do actually things in my day, no matter how small they may be. I thought forumites could post here a daily achievement or 2 so we can remind ourselves that we have done something good each day. It can be as big or as small as you like. Just as long as what you did makes you proud and happy.

I'm tagging @roses @Bow @Shaz51 @BPDSurvivor @saltandpepper @Daisydreamer @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @TideisTurning @Former-Member @frog @Sans911 @outlander

in case you might be interested as well as anyone else who wants to join in!

So, to get this discussion started, I'll post my achievements today which are:

- I had a gorgeous cup of tea which helped me deal with some anxiety I was experiencing;

- I paid my car registration which was due today.

See what I mean about achievements? Mine may seem small or irrelevant to some people but to me, because I have depression, these are actually major in the scheme of my life. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Re: Daily Achievements!

@ENKELI Yes I am surrounded by Quarter horses and Thoroughbreds.

The shed at the back of the A-frame is full of saddles.

Jeff, gives riding lessons on Saturdays.

I got a mattress and will bit of creativity I should be able to make a Japandi or Wabi-Sabi style bed base.

You are going to love the bench seat I’m going to make.

I’ve always thrived on change. I find change exciting. There are always exceptions.

Most people don’t like change. I don’t know why I’m different.

I have already been in contact with Bully Community Garden. They are keen for me to visit.

Zambrero Chocolate Brownie is great. I could eat another two.

I see this as a peaceful stay, while I finalise this settlement.

Then I’ll buy a place to create … who knows what?

Have you ever been so dirty that you find dirt and grit on your scalp and in your hair?

So where are you going to plant your plants 🪴?

I ❤️ Australian native grasses. I love the way they move in the wind.
Kangaroo grass, Speargrass, Poa. Dianella Blue Flax Lily - berries are yum.

Re: Daily Achievements!

@Glisten you have a great outlook my darling.

Horses, I'm jelly! (jealous). Mind you the last time I was on a horse was 20 years ago in Alberta Canada. I used to ride when I visited family in Gero, my aunt and cousins all rode, one cousin was very involved in riding and won several awards.

I love riding. Horses are beautiful creatures.

Good to hear you have a mattress, I have complete faith you will make a great frame for it.

I look forward to seeing the bench.

The plants will stay in pots until I decide what to do with my back yard. Mum wants to put a granny flat in the back so placement will depend on that.

Enjoy what's left of your evening xoxo

Hi @ENKELI and @Glisten

I am currently reading a book called Empowered Women Empower Women by Claudia Bruschke and Anneli Johansson. And at the beginning they talk about how equine therapy has helped a lot of people to heal and to be able to move forward.

This is the link if you are interested.

@Mustang67 thanks for that, I look forward to reading it.

Horses are amazing for how they can help all types of conditions. From Autistic kids to alcoholics, they have the ability to help.

Re: Daily Achievements!

@ENKELI you need to have a conversation with Jeff the horse trainer.

I pretty much had the same conversation with him about the same subject today. Jeff said.

”They are a flight animal. If they sense fear or tension. They want to run away from it.”

”They are so sensitive, they can feel a fly 🪰 on their coat. So if you’re tense sitting on a horse, they can feel it”.

Re: Daily Achievements!

@Glisten so true. If you're nervous you won't get a horse to do anything it doesn't want to.

I've been thrown and kicked, it didn't stop me wanting to be near horses. I'm not big on fear of tangible things!

Re: Daily Achievements!

@ Tab rode a 'rental' horse 14 years ago first and only time rode.. got to a canter , got told was a 'natural' horse did whatever it wanted , I just tried to go with it.

got told off when got back , got 'parked in' just sitting waiting for eff noes wat, so got off 'wrong side' ha ha I could barely walk and really struggled getting out of car for next 3 days lol @ENKELI @Glisten
