Daily Achievements!

Daily Achievements!

Hi forum friends! I've decided to start a new thread on Daily Achievements because I suffer from depression as one of my mental illness and that means it's often hard for me to remind myself that I do actually things in my day, no matter how small they may be. I thought forumites could post here a daily achievement or 2 so we can remind ourselves that we have done something good each day. It can be as big or as small as you like. Just as long as what you did makes you proud and happy.

I'm tagging @roses @Bow @Shaz51 @BPDSurvivor @saltandpepper @Daisydreamer @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @TideisTurning @Former-Member @frog @Sans911 @outlander

in case you might be interested as well as anyone else who wants to join in!

So, to get this discussion started, I'll post my achievements today which are:

- I had a gorgeous cup of tea which helped me deal with some anxiety I was experiencing;

- I paid my car registration which was due today.

See what I mean about achievements? Mine may seem small or irrelevant to some people but to me, because I have depression, these are actually major in the scheme of my life. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Re: Daily Achievements!

I kind of went in to shock, at so many phone call messages (& scheduled interviews), even during Yoga Class this morning.

Then received message from Contracting Agency for Call-Centre Job – Wanting me to phone them back.

So that I can commence 5 week’s intensive training, Immediately….

I’m Frozen, I cannot respond – Or if/ when I do respond (call them back), I may not make a Good Choice.

Often I Just accept what’s in front of me, then deal with the Consequences.

I don’t know if I can cope with call-centre (6am to 8pm) work or not.

I would be so fatigued that early in the morning, & late evening - Would not feel (or seem) functional at all.

I don’t really if it’s good for me – Or if I want it or not.

The paperwork & Statutory Declarations (yesterday) was horrendous – Not sure how easy to pull out (once started).

They did not give me a Copy of any of the Paperwork or Stat Dec – So there is nothing for me to read back over, to help me to decide.

Need to give myself more time – To come out of Overwhelm find centredness).

So was not able to respond, this afternoon.

Public Holiday on Monday (7th).

Will have to decide & let them know on Tuesday.

Today, I achieved the following things:

- I dealt with an ndis plan review meeting/phone call to great success

- I started knitting a beanie for charity to help deal with my anxiety before the ndis review

- I watched Home and Away and Big Brother on TV

- I checked out Facebook and posted a status update

- I went food shopping

Overall, I'm proud of what I achieved considering I'm still under lockdown restrictions here in Melbourne.

Re: Daily Achievements!

Hello, and thanks for the tag @Judi9877 , and Hello to all forumites,

Achievements today

  1. Decision to write up achievements at the end of each day so that I, in some way, hold myself accountable for the way that I use my time, and allocate time for best effect

  2. Before I write achievements it would seem to be a good idea to have a plan. So plan preparation each evening

  3. To Plan I need to specify Aims and Objectives

  4. I was reminded about self-care on another forum thread, and recognise that I should include that activity into my day also.

So the list above is really upside down!!

Aims & Objectives:

General:

  • Spend more time outside for productive work and exercise

  • Allocate time for self-care

  • Allocate time for forum interaction

Specific

  • 1st property objective: to secure area with fence to allow Kirra (dog) freedom of yard.

  • 2nd property objective: to commence and continue presentation (garden) upgrade.

  • 3rd property objective: to upgrade cottage building envelope. .

Plan for tomorrow:

  • Medication from chemist and light shop (1 Hour)

  • Clear old fence and fence-line for erection of replacement (2 hours)

  • Prepare tools and equipment for fence erection. (2 hours)

  • Clear back patio workspace (in case of rain expected Wed, Thur & Fri) (1 Hour)

  • Forum activity (¾ hour am, 1½ hours pm)

  • Prep time for counselling session on Wednesday (1 hour)

Self-Care:

  • 3 x Play with my dog, Kirra - (~ 1 hour)

  • Singing Group in evening (1¼ hour)

Achievements today were:

  • to respond to a call from a friend to assist with clearing material to the tip as part of reorganising after the cyclone.

  • Playing with my dog as part of my self-care.

  • Responding to a number of posts on the forum.

This is a starting point and is somewhat lengthy. However, future Plan and Achievement details will be more compact.

If anyone has any suggestions I would be pleased to know of them.

Thank you for considering what I have prepared.

With Best Wishes to All

Re: Daily Achievements!

Yesterday I achieved a fair bit in my new job because I now understand its requirements better.
Today I will be running some stuff and so it'll be more achievements
I have got decent sleep but I woke up to pee lol which effected it
Either way I feel ok and its not the end of the world if it doesn't go according to plan
