Daily Achievements!

Daily Achievements!

Hi forum friends! I've decided to start a new thread on Daily Achievements because I suffer from depression as one of my mental illness and that means it's often hard for me to remind myself that I do actually things in my day, no matter how small they may be. I thought forumites could post here a daily achievement or 2 so we can remind ourselves that we have done something good each day. It can be as big or as small as you like. Just as long as what you did makes you proud and happy.

I'm tagging @roses @Bow @Shaz51 @BPDSurvivor @saltandpepper @Daisydreamer @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @TideisTurning @Former-Member @frog @Sans911 @outlander

in case you might be interested as well as anyone else who wants to join in!

So, to get this discussion started, I'll post my achievements today which are:

- I had a gorgeous cup of tea which helped me deal with some anxiety I was experiencing;

- I paid my car registration which was due today.

See what I mean about achievements? Mine may seem small or irrelevant to some people but to me, because I have depression, these are actually major in the scheme of my life. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Re: Daily Achievements!

That's tough @Shaz51 . It's not as though things are getting cheaper, right? I guess it's about going for whatever you can right now to help with the financial side of things. I recognise it's not the easiest right now.

Re: Daily Achievements!

It's hard @Shaz51 I don't think there's a sickness allowance any more to bridge the gap. Does JobSeeker cover you if you're not well short-term?

My sister has had a string of serious health problems and accidents and her mh isn't good either.

Re: Daily Achievements!

I need to share this because this is HUGE for me
9am Bunnings this morning had 2 of my 3 kids in tow.
I LOST MY WIFES CAR KEYS.
IN BUNNINGS.
and I feel like that would be enough to send anybody in a panic, as well as having two whiny kids that were like dad when are we going dad I can’t carry this anymore I’m bored, I actually didnt panic once, I could hagw given that we only have one car right now so nobody would have been able to pick us up… but i was like ok well I know the aisles we were in so they have to be here somewhere right?Searched the the kids pockets, took their shoes off, all of it and nope.
even asked the Bunnings people for help.
And guess where they were, in the ignition of the car still, in full view in car park
I can’t believe I didn’t just freak out completey
I actually was rational and calm

Re: Daily Achievements!

Yikes!!!! What an 'achievement'! Not relating to leaving the keys in the ignition in the first place, but actually staying calm!

Perhaps the adrenaline rush kept you at ease until you were finally over the stress of having lost the keys.

Glad they were safe in the ignition... that's what it's like having kids.... @ArraDreaming

I put my niece in the baby capsule once "or thought I did", then drove off... when I opened the car door and looked in the baby capsule, she wasn't there!!!

I went into a major meltdown and freaked out that I'd left her at the shops and driven home...

Then...

I saw her moving from the other side of the car in the OTHER baby capsule... I had put her in the wrong seat.... We had 3 children's seats in the back of the car - the baby ones on either side and the child seat in the middle....

You should've seen me freak out... I think my heart stopped.
