Daily Achievements!

Daily Achievements!

Hi forum friends! I've decided to start a new thread on Daily Achievements because I suffer from depression as one of my mental illness and that means it's often hard for me to remind myself that I do actually things in my day, no matter how small they may be. I thought forumites could post here a daily achievement or 2 so we can remind ourselves that we have done something good each day. It can be as big or as small as you like. Just as long as what you did makes you proud and happy.

I'm tagging @roses @Bow @Shaz51 @BPDSurvivor @saltandpepper @Daisydreamer @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @TideisTurning @Former-Member @frog @Sans911 @outlander

in case you might be interested as well as anyone else who wants to join in!

So, to get this discussion started, I'll post my achievements today which are:

- I had a gorgeous cup of tea which helped me deal with some anxiety I was experiencing;

- I paid my car registration which was due today.

See what I mean about achievements? Mine may seem small or irrelevant to some people but to me, because I have depression, these are actually major in the scheme of my life. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Re: Daily Achievements!

@tyme

I suspect nervous energy is at play here.

Therapy appointment tomorrow and my Therapist wants to put together a timeline of the multiple traumas of my life.

Re: Daily Achievements!

Sounds like it's going to be a tough session @Scream58 ! Remember, you have a say in how far you want to go, and when to stop if it becomes too much - I'm sure your therapist will guide you.

In case I don't get to speak to you tomorrow, I will jot down some crisis numbers for you (just in case):

Lifeline: 13 11 14

Suicide call back service: 1300 659 467

If in immediate danger: 000

Looking forward to hearing how you go tomorrow.

Sitting with you,

tyme

@RedHorse @Scream58 @Meowmy well done on your achievements forumites👍🏻⭐️!

The rest of my Sunday was pretty productive and I’m proud of what I achieved which was:

- Got 2 hours worth of uni studying done and felt like I learnt something about counselling and psychotherapy

- Ate dinner

- Spoke to my sister a few times on the phone after she accidentally hurt her finger at her house whilst tidying up

- Took some photos of my cat on my phone

- Ordered some photos for my sisters Easter present

- Watched TV (news)

- Worked on my knitted adult charity blanket

That’s all for me tonight!

Take care forumites.

Re: Daily Achievements!

@tyme yes it was a tough session.

I caught up with a friend for afternoon coffee & cake.

I'm staying at my son's tonight and had dinner with my other son followed by playing UNO. Lots of laughs & silliness with my teenage grandsons.

Apparently I sit on my hands when the going gets tough. No-one has ever picked up on that before. When I needed to stop I asked the therapist to turn the paper, with the timeline on it, over so I wasn't looking at it.

I also got that haircut that I tried for two weeks ago. I've always had long hair. Gone for a radical change and really short this time. I don't like having my hair touched but the hairdresser was fantastic. He made me feel comfortable to go for more than a basic trim.

Got my flu shot today too.

Tomorrow I'm getting new tyres on my car before heading home.

Re: Daily Achievements!

Today I got the new tyres fitted on my ute.

After two days of doing stuff I had run out of energy so didn't go to the supermarket.

It was nice to catch up with family but I'm home now.
