Daily Achievements!

Daily Achievements!

Hi forum friends! I've decided to start a new thread on Daily Achievements because I suffer from depression as one of my mental illness and that means it's often hard for me to remind myself that I do actually things in my day, no matter how small they may be. I thought forumites could post here a daily achievement or 2 so we can remind ourselves that we have done something good each day. It can be as big or as small as you like. Just as long as what you did makes you proud and happy.

I'm tagging @roses @Bow @Shaz51 @BPDSurvivor @saltandpepper @Daisydreamer @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @TideisTurning @Former-Member @frog @Sans911 @outlander

in case you might be interested as well as anyone else who wants to join in!

So, to get this discussion started, I'll post my achievements today which are:

- I had a gorgeous cup of tea which helped me deal with some anxiety I was experiencing;

- I paid my car registration which was due today.

See what I mean about achievements? Mine may seem small or irrelevant to some people but to me, because I have depression, these are actually major in the scheme of my life. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Hi @Judi9877 @LostAngel @Anastasia

Today I:

cleaned up dead leaves all over front porch

took rubbish out to bins

put bins out

rolled good garden hose up

put cover back on top of gas cylinders instead of it sitting on the lawn

shifted some junk from lounge to bedroom

most of these things were because had tradesperson walk through house few days ago; I just just dont realise how bad things are til try and see them how I think others would see them

also found spare house keys in case have to let them in again at some stage (shower base is getting replaced and am thinking most likely I will be at work, but see what happens

Hello @TAB

Agree with you about seeing space that we occupy through the eyes of someone else as in:

"realise how bad things are til try and see them how I think others would see them"

That can be an incentive to attend to what we "should be concerned with". As well as the added benefit of locating or finding things like keys etc. that have been sitting somewhere unknown for quite a while!!!

Great to know of what you have achieved and an extra incentive for me and possibly others to move on what we need to get done.

Thanks @TAB , appreciate the nudge.

I've also been reading about @Dimity 's accomplishments in his

Cheers, @HenryX

Re: Daily Achievements!

thanks @HenryX me and tidyness is an ongoing thing. I turn blind eye to it most of the time, but always feel better if tidy things up

Re: Daily Achievements!

Good evening @TAB @HenryX @LostAngel @Anastasia @ShiningStar @Shaz51 @pinklollipop15 @Former-Member @Daisydreamer @frog and all forumites here.

@TAB well done on cleaning up! I personally hate doing that, whether that be my bedroom or any other space, as I find it boring but once I do it, I do feel somewhat better for it. Besides, cleaning up gives me a chance to find all the lost things that have miraculously disappeared that I've forgotten about so that makes it an even better task for me, especially if it's something I haven't seen in a while!

Today, my achievements were:

- I finally finished cleaning out the rest of my old rental property by collecting 2 car loads of leftover things;

- I spent a relaxing hour in the local library knitting in the cool of the air conditioning

- I had roast chicken and pasta salad for dinner courtesy of Woolies as I couldn't be bothered cooking and I was over take away;

- I worked on my crochet blanket and my knitted baby blanket for charity at various times of the day;

- I signed up to complete the My Compass program on the Black Dog website to help me with my mental health issues

- I called up a local community centre to attend a knitting group for this Saturday for several hours giving me time out to meet new people and to bond over knitting which I have been meaning to do for awhile.

What things have you each been achieving lately forumites? Even if it's only 1 thing you're proud of, it's still worth celebrating and that's the main thing.

Re: Daily Achievements!

today I ran wet mop over worst spots on kitchen floor, cleared and cleaned a benchtop that hasn;t seen light of day in a long time, plus went over cobwebs in lounge and swept big mat near bathroom with stiff broom (works better than vacuum cleaner lol) picked up a few things that shouldnt be on floor

so if I declutter loungeroom and clean the rug, guy fixing shower wont know its the same place he saw the other week lol

Oh I broke the mop handle lol . Need new cleaning gear anyway. Okay after isolation.

Hi @TAB ,

Good on you. As I am reading your description I can feel the stirring of mental activity here. Thank you.

Will need to deal with it later though because I am off to Geraldton shortly.

Best Wishes, @HenryX
