Daily Achievements!

Daily Achievements!

Hi forum friends! I've decided to start a new thread on Daily Achievements because I suffer from depression as one of my mental illness and that means it's often hard for me to remind myself that I do actually things in my day, no matter how small they may be. I thought forumites could post here a daily achievement or 2 so we can remind ourselves that we have done something good each day. It can be as big or as small as you like. Just as long as what you did makes you proud and happy.

I'm tagging @roses @Bow @Shaz51 @BPDSurvivor @saltandpepper @Daisydreamer @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @TideisTurning @Former-Member @frog @Sans911 @outlander

in case you might be interested as well as anyone else who wants to join in!

So, to get this discussion started, I'll post my achievements today which are:

- I had a gorgeous cup of tea which helped me deal with some anxiety I was experiencing;

- I paid my car registration which was due today.

See what I mean about achievements? Mine may seem small or irrelevant to some people but to me, because I have depression, these are actually major in the scheme of my life. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Re: Daily Achievements!

Hello @pinklollipop15

Thank you for asking...gosh let me think

I worked from home today and ticked off some significant tasks

I washed the hard floors

I saw my Dr and had some tests

I tidied the spare room and my office

I cleansed the house with white sage

I had a bath

I went to the shops and bought some essentials

I had dinner and a few drinks with my son who visited

I think I will sleep well tonight

Edit...

I just crawled into bed and I have clean sheets I forgot. So nice. Night all, sleep well 🙏💕

Re: Daily Achievements!

hello Everyone daily Acheivements are as follows Ill start with that.one woke up ,two had a shower, three changed my clothes, four had leftover pizza for lunch, five resceduled a centrelink appointment, six checked Emails, besides that Ive switched off my phone for the day and again mostly stayed in bed although not as much staying in bed as yesterday but still resting, eating regularly though despite my moodyness again with people in general, was gonna watch a movie earlier but then laid in bed and fell back to sleep, sleep seems to be my go to escape at the moment that and movies or series and music,I rang Lifeline last Night for a chat and have an appointment with my doctor tomorow, one thing I noticed last night was a big feeling of anxiety which made it very hard to sleep at the normal night time hours,I feel in terms of my mental health and personal goals theres things that I keep putting off doing and instead choose to do as little as possible ,just wanting to get to christmas and see this year over with,Im not nearly as organised as I think I should be and honestly after my birthday,I dont feel happy about being another year older ,feel like this years been a lot of wasted time I am safe just self reflecting, anyway I hope others acheived something and had a good day thanks LostAngel

Re: Daily Achievements!

Hi there @LostAngel @Anastasia @pinklollipop15 @Former-Member @HenryX @Shaz51 @frog @Daisydreamer @Former-Member @cloudcore and everyone here.

Today I achieved the following things:

- I started writing my uni essay and actually enjoyed spending time writing it

- I played with my cat

- I watched Home and Away

- I had a shower

- I applied for a car loan

- I had dinner

- I took my night meds

- I finished a strip for my adult Crazy Blanket for the charity I knit for and then started the last strip of the blanket (it's 20cm wide per strip and 170cm long with 6 strips being needed to make an adult blanket)

Well done on all of your achievements everyone.

@LostAngel I'm like you with the way the year has been. I'm hoping that next year is a lot better with less restrictions and hopefully no lockdowns here in Melbourne due to Covid-19. Also, I'm hoping to have a better year with my mental illnesses and hopefully no hospital admissions either!

Re: Daily Achievements!

Out of curiosity, can sharers tell me a bit more about listing 'watching Home and Away' as an achievement?
I'm quite interested to know a bit more @Judi9877 @pinklollipop15 . It has come up regularly as an achievement. I don't watch it, but am thinking the show must play an important role in the lives of our forum members.

Is it because it is relatable?

As I said, I don't watch it, but am interested to find out more. Rest assured, no judgement on my part. I'm just curious.

Hugs everyone! Awesome job on your achievements!

Re: Daily Achievements!

Good evening @BPDSurvivor @LostAngel @Anastasia @pinklollipop15 @Former-Member @Daisydreamer @Shaz51 @frog and everyone here. Well done on your achievements!

@BPDSurvivor in regards to watching Home and Away, I regard it as an achievement for myself as it means I'm spending time watching it with my housemate and it gives me something to do at night which could often mean the difference between a good night and a bad night, especially if I'm not in a great mood mentally. Also, I like looking at some of the male characters as eye candy😂! I hope this helps?

As for my achievements today:

- I took the time to listen to my body and get in some much needed rest and sleep

- I applied for and received an extension for a uni assessment

- I had a shower

- I finished the first section of my border for my Mental Health Recovery Blanket

- I checked out Facebook

I know these achievements might seem small or mundane or even boring but to me, it means I did something in my day and they are worth recognising and celebrating and that's all that matters. Like I said in past posts, anything can be an achievement if it makes you feel good or worthwhile!
