Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

Hey @Shaz51 very cold here today too, went for a long run and froze the whole way. Then got on my bike for 30 minutes to warm up again. Love having it set up that I can ride inside.
I actually had this conversation with my therapist yesterday. My depression has been worse during the colder weather and I mentioned to JB, I think my bipolar has a seasonality about it. He agreed and said bipolar being seasonal, ie more mania in summer and more depression in winter is a common theme with the illness. So it's definitely possible Mr Shaz is being affected by it too.
Hope you are doing okay my friend xx

Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

@Shaz51 Yes I'm the same Shazzy. In summer I seem to have endless amounts of energy too. Completely opposite at present. I've had to really push myself to keep training through the cold as I know how important it is to my headspace. Something my therapist is really happy about. Winter used to be my self sabotage season cause of the depression, but I've worked hard to change that this year. I'm no fan of the extreme heat, we get 44-45 high temps in country VIC, but I think I'll enjoy summer a lot more this time round.

Hi @Shaz51 weather is really cold and very wet and stormy over in Perth. Trying to stay positive is hard work at the moment. Not able to get out and go for a walk etc. today. Totally agree with Mr Shaz and @bipolarbunny re the depression. Had an appointment with GP this am. Feel like I waste her time. Pointless going back.

Hi to everyone passing through X

Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

@Shaz51 Actually Shazzy I just had a thought. This winter for the first time I started taking some extra vitamins, mainly B12, D3 & a multi. Since I've become vegan there's some vitamins like B12 that are hard to get from plants. And I take D3 cause there's not as much sunshine to produce it naturally in the dark winter months. The multi vitamin just rounds it off. I definitely think they have helped. My therapist is a vegan too and he recommended them, especially the B12. I know people who get B12 injections too. It's used in energy production in the body, so it makes sense it helps fight against the lack of energy that presents with depression. And vitamin D is essential for muscle and bone strength, which everyone needs.
Just a thought.
