Dear @Mazarita I'm very sorry I haven't been around for you in recent times and particularly yesterday. I really hope today is a bit gentler for you. As I think I've told you before I have it in my team care plan now that I am not to be prescribed AD's as I have adverse reactions to them. So it's been many years now since I tried one and I guess they've been developed further since then. I am feeling for you deeply as I do know how much of a roller coaster any new med adjustment can be. You are very dedicated to your wellbeing I know, so I get the hope that starting a new med can sometimes bring and the disappointment when the adjustment is so hard. Only you can decide whether to persevere with it or not, but I hope your Dr knows what it's putting you through atm.
I'm also saddened to hear of your disappointment as to what NDIS will and won't fund. Another roller coaster of hope rising and being dashed over and over that I truly understand and experience at times myself. Sometimes it's a matter of being creative about the way you describe to them something you want to do. I discovered that in Capacity Building increased social and community participation there is an item called Innovative participation or something like that, def starts with the word innovative, which my plan manager has used a couple of times after I found it deep in the fine print of one service provider's info. I'm wondering whether you are able to look at the price guide, maybe with support, - it's been helpful for me at times. An example is that my DBT course (starts next Monday) can be paid as a group community activity from Core rather than a therapy from Capacity Building which would be declined. It also helps to have a creative Coordinator of Supports. I had a 2 hour meeting with mine yesterday.
I missed the discussion last night on Topic Tuesday re Life with NDIS and haven't read it yet but hope you found some helpful ideas from it.
I have to catch up on 2 weeks worth of posts and it's getting to the point where I might not even try, just move forward from today. I have followed your conversation on A Long Rave in part and may have been able to contribute but life's just been hectic, as seems to be normal these days. Even when I do log in and start reading posts I've missed, something irl always seems to rear its head. I am actively putting the brakes on at times so that I don't get caught in hyper mode. Which means that when I get an hour or two without necessary tasks I go toes up in front of the telly or to bed. Or do some mandala colouring. Try to be still and slow down. Monitoring bipolar potential mood swings, usually of the accelerated variety, closely atm. Also spent the last 2 1/2 weeks tapering off a med that blocks sleeplessness coz it didn't work for me. I've been on another one which mimics a neurotransmitter we naturally produce, and it does seem to be helping a bit.
Lots more I could write but I want to read some posts while I have time.
Hoping to catch you if you're around. Sending lots of love. Take care of you my dear xx
