@BipolarPenguin I think a pdoc is a psychiatrist and tdoc is a therapist/psychologist

Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

Hey @BipolarPenguin ,

I don't think I've come across Tdoc, but pdoc can be any psych doctor 🙂

Hope that helps 🙂

Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

You are welcome to tag me anytime you like @BipolarPenguin- only that I don't get on Forums as much as some others like Tyme & Hanami might. Like some others have said, I haven't heard of tdoc either, but pdoc, to my understanding is a psychiatrist. I've heard psych used to refer to a psychologist. I hope that helps, but keep asking away as needed! 😊

Good Morning @_PixieSolstice_ , @BipolarPenguin , @Dimity , @tyme , @TideisTurning , @hanami

My husband has had lots of different diagnosis but he believes he has bipolar 2

Now he is on new meds which are for bipolar

Seeing the doctor and MH team tomorrow as he says one of the meds is during his head in

Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

It's hard getting used to new meds sometimes @Shaz51 and sometimes the side effects are just too much. I hope the Dr can sort it out.

Hope his hand is mending. How are you?

Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

Does anyone have mixed bipolar or rapid cycling bipolar?

My meds have been increased and I have boundless energy and barely sleeping. But my mood is mostly low however in a 24 hour period I can be slightly elevated, normal, low or really low.

Im exhausted mentally from the constant change and not understanding fully what is going on. I’m not sure whether it’s just the med changes. Before they were changed my CM was thinking, mixed bipolar instead of BP 2.

Just curious of other’s experiences.

Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

I'm not disregarding the importance of medication as a tool.

But I with support psychologist got myself off all medication. I took two different mood stabilisers 5 years ago. It hasn't been easy and sometimes I have to back on one of them but I've managed by keeping busy with work, running lots 3-4 times per week. I have a boyfriend I've been with for 9 years. My Dad is amazing -i have had struggle like this week for example & I call my dad when I can't sleep and I get through it.

I think reading about self help -really helped me and making art. I think if I didn't have my art I would really have struggled.

@Dimity hahahahaha I laughed really hard at your new passion:

"These days I craft short missives to politicians and councillors on pet peeves and am chuffed if/when I get traction"

Lololololol you remind me of my Dad 🤣

Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

@Captain24 sometimes the diagnosis is not as important. Sometimes it's easier to focus on finding the medication or tools to help you. Well at least that's my experience. I hope things get better for you.

Medications changes have a massive I.pact on how you feel. Sometimes you gotta hang in there till things settle. E.g. lithium takes a long time to work, it's not immediate. Whereas serequel feels like a bulldozer is running you down 🤣
