Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

Hi @Dimity I’m new to the forums so I am a bit late to this but I just wanted to say that I have both ADHD and Bipolar and you have explained it perfectly.
Like I said I am new here and would love to get involved in the discussion more so I’d love to hear about how this all works.

Thanks

Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

Hello @Former-Member and welcome. Nice to see you here.

The discussions are pretty informal and ad hoc, people drop by from time to time. Most of us engage on other threads as well.

Have you been diagnosed for a while or are you still coming to terms with it?

Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

@DimityI was diagnosed 3 years ago but only recently have I been able to open up about it. Seems the more I talk about it the better I feel about it

Talking about it is always good @Former-Member

Hello @tyme , @Cooked_Cookie , @Jynx , @Former-Member , @Dimity , @fluffylight

Bipolar and self employment is hard

Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

I can imagine that keeping that consistency and continuity is really hard @Shaz51 . I found even working for an employer was hard. I worked hard and had good results but MH, sleep patterns and several physical health problems got on top of me and I dropped out... and my gp and psychologist put a lot of pressure on me to quit. It was unplanned and sheer good luck that some of my super kicked in early. Does Mr shaz have any fallback or would he have to get a DSP?

Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

@Shaz51 can very much imagine so. So much extra responsibility. Has there been anything in particular of late that has been really challenging?

In response to: Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

Hello @Jynx , @Dimity

He wants to stop

And since I am on the DSP now he wants to stop completely

See the doctor next week

Yes @Jynx , he has always does 120 % at a job and there seems to be no thanks and as a perfectionist it is getting too him more and more

We have cut a few more jobs away

Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

@Shaz51 sounds like it is hugely stressful for him. Poor Mr Shaz. How would that impact your day-to-day, losing that extra income?

Does he hve a regular therapist he works with? Perfectionism is rough, I have a few friends who have had to work really hard to try to move away from that way of thinking. Still a work in progress, but not impossible.
