Re: Humiliated

I have a history of sexyal abuse. Perhaps you find it hard to talk about it too? The Shame and embarrassment. I will say this, whether an innocent child, an innocent teenager it an innocent adult, IT IS NEVER DESERVED. It's not even a thought that should be remotely considered. The person who commited the act us the wrong one. I know how hard that us to even believe. The shame exists from what we are told, whether we are believed if not and/or if any appropriate action is taken against the perpetrator.

At a time where you needed to be validated, believed, protected and taken care if emotionally, physically and psychologically, it did not happen. Thus was not your fault. You did nothing wrong for people to respond in the wats they did. That was their choice, that was entirely to do with them and about them, not you. It's so much easier to point the finger at the innocent, than face yourself or the circumstances.

I'm sorry you weren't believed. I believe you.

All the very best moving forward on your own healing journey where ALL THE CHOUCES are now yours and you do not need to justify nor protect anyone else whatsoever. It's time for YOU and only YOU.

@Evie1 Yes, I can relate to what you have shared.

There is nothing I could add to what @Powderfinger has so thoughtfully shared, only my agreement with it, 100 percent.

You do matter. You really do. Sending some 💕💕💕💕

Hi @Evie1

Shame is a b****! I have not ideas how to overcome it but also wanted to echo @Powderfinger and @Maggie . They're smart cookies! In no way are you to blame. I tried to find this article I read once about shame and abuse to share but couldn't. Basically it was about this activity where you lost the qualities of the abuser amd the qualities of the survivor (at the time of abuse ) and it makes it pretty clear where the power lies. I don't know if that makes sense. The article was good if I find it and I'm allowed to share on this site I will.

@Evie1

I make a suggestion, that you either come back to this thread often or write down the responses. Read them millions of times over when ever you feel you are strong enough. There is wisdom here and will help you along your path. Much love and strength to you.

Re: Humiliated

Ok, I'm really unsure of what your expectation is around your post?

What about others such as myself who chose to re open their own humiliation and feelings of shame to try help and support you. Then you do not want to read it? How invalidating.

Thank you for sharing what you did and I wish you the best in your own healing and recovery.

Take care.
