hi im aj ive used my actual nickname that i get called wich is used more than my name. i was introduced to the forum by a friend who thinks ill benefit from it i suffer from 4 anxiety disorders, GAD, PTSD, social anxiety and panic disorder. yes i do have PTSD no i was not in the army just a really really messed up childhood. i am 23 im engaged and i have i 4 yr old and 8 angel babies all miscarriges at diferent stages of pregnancy im not good a childhood reflecting although if asked i do tell ppl what i have been through unless i believe they will either be triggered or just wont believe that i have really been through that much. i do like to meet ppl who have been through similar to myself but i dislike ppl that turn their issues into a compitition of who has the worst. anyway im probably rambling now im gunna leave it at that
Bugger. Sorry to hear that @Former-Member. That could make future panic attacks scary too. I have been lucky to have such a special bf. And also lucky to find the right psychologists at the right time to work with me, on what was needed at the time. My 1st psychologist, when he recognised I had gone from acute stress & anxiety to PTSD, recommended I find a psychologist skilled in EMDR therapy. That 2nd psychologist treated my PTSD & I don't feel I suffer from PTSD anymore. My current psychologist (I sound like a psychologist hog or addict), is now helping me tie up all those loose ends (depression) & to see why I was vulnerable to the trauma at my old job & how I can prevent it in the future. Next week we start on assertiveness in the workplace. Can I ask you @Former-Member, what treatment you have undergone for your ptsd / panic attacks? Have you found any methods that have been helpful at reducing their severity & length (excluding the one that sent you to hospital). I don't think what works for one person will necessarily work for another, because our experiences differ slighly. It appears to be a case of trying everything. Our brains are bloody complicated organs. I wish it was as simple to treat MI's as it is a simple fracture

Re: hi im new
i have had therapists try a lot of different things but not anything that works longterm and as i dont like meds due to sideffects and i did have a really good psychologist while we had trouble with my ptsd and anxiety she did help me with a lot of other stuff but unfortunately she retired after 2+ years together and believe me you dont sound like a hog ive been through seven since she retired looking for one with the same style

@Former-Member. I don't understand why it's illegal to kidnap a good psychologist. Lol. It does take a lot of time and effort to find one who you can work with. I wonder if anyone on this site who has panic attacks, also has asthma. They may have some ' tricks' that help them. Maybe put a post in. Each of my therapists were good at different things. I'll hog tie my current one if I even suspect he's planning on leaving.
