Oh @Shaz51 I'm so so sorry my dear friend, you and Mr shaz must be devistated. I know the feeling of losing everything it makes you heart sink and anxious, I hope Mr shaz is OK and coping.

Glad you are taking it one day at a time. Please be gentle with yourself and Mr shaz too. I hope insurance does not mess you about like they have me.

I should go for a Drive to see the Christmas Lights - I have not seen those in 15 years.

Some suburbs have whole Streets - every house decorated with Lights.

My neighbours have very Loud Parties, for weeks around Christmas - Their outdoor Speakers Blasting the entire neighbourhood.

So there will be no peace & quiet at home - Staying home alone is not a good option.

No rain here yet. 40 degs on Mon and Tues. 28 Wed. 31 today and in the 30's tomorrow. Waiting for that storm.

I like to differentiate between being positive, having gratitude and holding on to hope.

There are times of sadness and it is important to acknowledge them and to rest when tired. Being sad is different to being negative.

Gratitude is a gift that keeps on giving and I know for myself that being thankful made a huge difference in my life. This combined with the hope that was instilled in me through my faith and the belief that we can live well in spite of some of our circumstances has likely led to negativity leaving me (although it still rears its head from time to time).

So, I do try and look for silver linings and opportunities for growth, but these are often seen and done after the dust has settled and the crisis is over.

@Shaz51 I'm in awe of the strength you've shown the while way through all of these experiences you've had, pushing through and continuing to move forward.

As far as Christmas, you're certainly not alone struggling to get into the spirit, but this thread might help give you some ideas for things you might like to do that are a little Christmasy. Whatever you decide will be right for you, I hope it's filled with peace and cheer. ❤️💚❤️💚
