Something’s not right

Spinning out.

Spinning out.

Went to the shopping center with my stepson to do a few things and I was spinning out and over whelmed with anxiety, I felt like everyone was looking at me and I just had to get out of there. We left and when we got home I fell asleep for an hour. Some times it's so strong I fight it but when I do i get little ticks. That's when my wife knows something is going on. Is this normal ( what is normal) but do others go through this. I think the anxiety part is getting worse at the moment is there any little tricks people do to help stop it. Thanks again.

Re: Spinning out.

Hello bigt

Ive had to recently to make the hard decision 'that I'm no longer a people pleaser'

And that in the end only I can solve my problems

And people can't fix them for me

And I can't rely on other people

And I can only look after myself

And everything that I do

I do it for myself

But that doesn't mean that I can find someone to talk to via saneforums

Its hard facing a difficult situation in isolation

And sometimes hard decisions need to be made

I hope things get better for me

Happyness

Re: Spinning out.

Mate I think you are right on the button. I need to stop trying to please everyone else and look after me. That said it won't be easy because I have always been there for anyone. I have to do somthing if I don't I won't be able to do anything.

Re: Spinning out.

No quick fixes @bigt. Therapy through a psychologist. You need to find out what triggers the anxiety and then you learn copingttechniques to deal with them.
Do you have PTSD or anxiety?
Do you know what your triggers are?
I wouldn't go to a large shopping complex - that's too many people for me. But I can go shopping in the nearest town.
Have you practiced breathing techniques or relaxation techniques?
I get anxious when I have to attend WorkCover and Centrelink appointments. Before I go in, I sit in my car and listen to a 5 or 10 minute relaxation app that helps with anxiety.

Re: Spinning out.

I contemplate being patient with myself

I tell myself that I don't have anything to prove to others

I contemplate not to be too hard on myself

I contemplate that I don't have to set high goals

I tell myself even one or two things I achieve in a day is still of worth

I tell myself that a long term rehabilitation plan is and will be worth it

I tell myself that a long term recovery plan is and will be worth it

And now I'm telling myself to start trusting again

And trust is of worth in itself

I'm not trying to be of any importance

And I acknowledge that trusting again will be of worth in itself

And I acknowledge that I'm learning how to love others again

Re: Spinning out.

I have had panic attacks in shopping centres and I still dont like them ... have found ways to avoid it as much as possible though still am the only person who shops and manages household.

I agree ... its not about fighting it .. as that is where the somatisation of the tics come in ..

Glad you had a sleep .. best thing.
