just joined up here

Hi everyone, I've seen the ads on TV about this site and thought it was time to join up.

I have so many struggles that i feel overwhelmed. I am so tired I just want it to all go away. I have suffered depression and huge anxiety most of my life, this last bout has now entered its 6th or 7th year, I don't even know now. I am just exhausted constantly and to be honest, fed up and tired of trying right now. I am terrified about my future, I know I need to focus on the now and what I CAN change, but I cannot get the things that worry me out of my head for very long. Besides depression, I have a multitude of other health and heart-break issues I am trying to deal with.

I know no one can help me, its up to me, but I just want to feel like someone out there cares and understands what i am going though.. i feel very alone.

After a lifetime of mostly sadness, (there have been some years of happiness thankfully too) I have a lot to offer others, as I care so deeply and would like to take the pain of everyone else away. I am a good listener, and that was my other reason for joining up here. I have had so much therapy and experiences in my lifetime, I am actually pretty good at helping others, I just don't seem to take my own advice!

Much love and strength to everyone here.

Hi @angel_wings

If you have a smart phone you can go online to App Store/ Itunes if you have an Iphone or to Google Play if you have an android phone (other than iphone), and search for the Smiling Mind App. It is free and you just select download onto your phone.

If I remember right, you enter some details about which type of program you want to use e.g. teenager/adult. The short meditations are very handy to have mindful breaks through your day.

Good luck,

Frog

Re: just joined up here

@angel_wings. Wow. 2 minor surgeries in a week. That must not only be painful but exhausting. And then needing to help your daughter through the flu. I think you need a medal. Or at least pat yourself on the back for getting through a tough week.
I left my ex. But there was many times I wanted him back. Even begged him. Now I'm so thankful he said no. But at the time - devastated. Yes we can love someone, but unfortunately it doesn't mean that they deserve it, or that it is a safe or nurturing relationship. But I understand it's hard. Feeling lonely. Feeling that was your last chance at happiness. But it's not. You will get another chance at love - just don't rush in.
Maybe it's time to talk to your therapist about coping techniques to deal with lonliness and self worth.
I've been single for a long time. But that is my choice. After 2 divorces, I decided that I didn't want a relationship just for the sake of it. I will know when I meet the right one.
Once your daughter has recovered from the flu, will she give you help around the house? Not sure how old she is. Sorry. My memory is still not good.
What are your plans for the week? What can you do this week that you would enjoy?
Me, I'm off to the library on Tuesday. I love reading. And although it doesn't bring me any joy - I'll give the house a bit of a clean.

In this world there is no such thing as people who don't care, just those who don't yet know

Hello Nell. I have BPD too. I haven't heard of the "Smiling Mind 'App. I appreciate your sharing your story & what has helped you. I'll have a look-see for the App. The name of it already made me smile. Thanks.
