My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

What @Emelia8 said above!!!

I am so proud of your courage in facing the trauma and agreeing to trauma therapy, @Bow . I think you said your therapist said it's linked to your ED...and I know your Ed started after your trauma. Also I know personally that working through my traumas have helped me to move on and get some healing. This was significant as I was stuck in bed with severe depression and intense SI for 3 years.

I will be thinking of you this morning at 10.30... I hope you can speak. If you find speaking hard, I wonder if you could write it down for her to read? Even in the appointment itself, if beforehand is too hard?

Well done, and sending you heaps of 💜 and good wishes and for this to be the start fo your healing from the trauma and also the ED...

Re: My Mosaic

thank you @NatureLover @Captain24 @Emelia8 @Eve7 @Paperdaisy ... it really means alot to know that i have your support in this.

I tossed and turned alot last night. and have alot of nausea this morning. Ive just had a zoom appointment with my ED psychiatrist, it was short thankfully, but i told her what i was starting today. She was supportive but also understood that it was going to be hard work.

Im going to go try and have something to eat, my psychologist doesnt want me coming in with a starved brain.

Re: My Mosaic

Sounds like you did great @Bow 👍💕🙏 well done.

Such a courageous lady.

I wont lie to you and tell you that tomorrow will be easier. In all likelihood the process will get harder before it begins to get easier. But please persist and see this therapy through to its conclusion. The pain fear and intense anxiety you have felt as a result of your trauma for way too long, will slowly lose its grip over you. Definitely something to work towards.

Re: My Mosaic

I have a self soothing list @Former-Member which my psychologist and I put together yesterday and she has encouraged me to use the list, but I haven’t really been able to engage with any of them. Really struggling to stay present at the moment and not think about ways out of this.

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow what do you think is so difficult about engaging in the list? I wonder if you can take it one step at a time or just try to start an actively?

I think in a distressing time, it's understandable that you may be thinking about ways out. Are you worried about being safe for now?
