My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

I’m feeling really frustrated today. There is zero support in here. The staff are lovely, but they don’t have the time to sit with me and they also don’t get it.

Im suppose to have an appointment with my own dietitian on Friday, but I don’t imagine being out of here by then. So I messaged her today and asked if it was possible to have a Telehealth appointment… at least I could get some support from her. She agreed. Thankfully.

I haven’t seen anyone from mental health since I was moved from mental health ward to the medical ward on Saturday night. My gastro dr has requested it numerous times this week, but it still hasn’t happened.

my gastro dr is lovely, always comes and sees me at the end of the day no matter what time she finishes. She’s encouraging me to drink more cause I’m really not drinking anything. But the dietitian don’t have me on any fluids. None are delivered with my minimal meals and the morning tea/afternoon tea lady skips me. So how in earth am I suppose to increase my fluids if I ain’t given any!! Frustrated. I’d really like to be able to have a chai… it’s a safe drink. I feel safe drinking it. But I’m never given the opportunity. I hate water. It’s not safe.

my mum and daughter came in today. As did my case manager- which was nice. She is going to come in again on Friday and see if she can break me out of here for a stroll to the hospital cafe- will see if that’s even possible! Another older lady come to visit from my church yesterday and today. She often visits my mum, and mum talked to her a bit about me and she asked if she could come and visit- I said yes.

Dinner will be around soon. Soup. Hospital food really does nothing for the appetite!

Hey @Bow,

Sorry to hear your frustrations. The hospital system can be so infuriating when you’re waiting for things to happen, people to see and directions that are not easy to follow through with, like your drinking.

It’s good your daughter and Mum came in for a visit and your friend from church ❤️. Can they bring some chai tea in for you next time?

What kind of soup did you have?

I read you were struggling earlier today. I am here tonight and can sit with you. Xxx

My mum always brings me in a chai @Former-Member

For dinner I had vegetable and lentil soup. Didn’t manage all of it though.

Re: My Mosaic

That's ok, you have a lot pressure on you. Glad you had some though, and that is liquid too so hopefully that counts toward your hydration goals.

Are there many people you can socialise with in there?

What do you like to do through your days?? @Bow

Re: My Mosaic

Thankfully @Former-Member I have a room of my own with a lovely view of a park. I’m on a medical ward… so a bit different to a psych ward, There are a lot of elderly people on this ward with dementia. I don’t socialise with anyone, just keep to myself.

ive been watching tv, I have my iPad and I also have a book that I have been reading. I’m not really a reader, but this book has been really good. It’s called ‘the girl who fell from the sky’. True story of an Aussie girl who survived a skydiving accident overseas and how she relearn to walk after becoming a paraplegic. I sleep a bit too.

Re: My Mosaic

What have you been watching? I had a very quiet and stayed at home and watch TV. I have not done that in about eight years. But now I remembered how much I like TV, and I’m looking for cool new shows. I am a rider, I will have to keep my eye open for that book. Sounds very heavy, but inspirational as well @Bow

Re: My Mosaic

I don’t always watch much @Former-Member on the tv. Bit of channel 7 and 9. Currently have the block on.
On my iPad I keep up with call the midwife, the handmaid tales, survivor and the kardashians. Sometimes I scroll through the streaming services, but nothing really jumps out at me and if I do start something, I easily get bored and end up falling asleep.

this book is really inspiring. She writes so well too. She shares a lot about her recovery- im about half way through and that’s what it’s been about so far. I’ve followed her on Instagram for years and she released this book a couple of months ago. I rushed out and bought it as soon as I landed back in aus after our recent overseas holiday.
what do you like to read?

Sometimes I get so overwhelmed with sadness over all the things that I am missing out on because of my eating disorder. Todays is one of them days 😭💔
