Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Little A decided she was "starving"at 5.45am. She came in our bed and snuggled up close to me putting her arm around my neck.
Breakfast done. She's now making a Mother's Day card. omg the words that come out. She's so grown up!!! She thanked me for helping her. I'm teaching her to do a card and buy something small for her mamma. Because I know that her dad won't.

Hi @saltandpepper @MDT @Owlunar @Eve7 @Emelia8 @Shaz51

Went to mums this morning.

When I gave her the cyclamen plant she turned around and said 'oh you shouldn't have its going to die anyway' WTF

instead of being appreciative she makes harsh comments. she then saw i bought her a bottle of perfume as well and then says 'oh you shouldn't have'. Anyway, i did what i did. we had coffee and dad was happy to see us. i told him that i will come again during the week with little A. They love seeing her. and when i kissed him goodbye he said 'it was nice to see you'. i never get much out of my dad, so for him to say that - it was special.

home now after fruit and veg shopping. i am decided to colour my own hair from now on. it was getting far too expensive. for $10 i can do it myself, with a bit of help from hubby!!

looks like it's just me and hubby home tonight. one son has gone to the footy in melbourne and the other son is working.

how is everyone's afternoon? it's been a nice day here in melbourne.

Hey @BlueBay ,

Ive just caught up with the happenings in your life! Sounds so eventful! I LOVED how you described what you did will Little A. Melted my heart. Absolutely too gorgeous.

Ive been flat out. Lots of kids with exam preparation to do. I'm also trying to complete a uni assignment by next week. The MELB weather has been a little crazy, so we have had so many people call in sick for work....that puts more pressure on us - to be precise, 36 staff were off on Monday! So just imagine how my hectic day was! Oh well, better busy than not 🙂

Keep us posted with how you're going, @BlueBay !

Re: Need to vent

thanks @BPDSurvivor

feeling okay today. It's mothers day and my daughter, her partner and little A are coming over for lunch. Anytime soon. it's nice and sunny here so i think a play at the park will be good to do after lunch.

It's hubby's birthday tomorrow so we are having a cake this afternoon as my daughter can't come tomorrow. it's hard now to have all the kids together at one time. still we do the best we can.

hubby and i went down the beach this morning for a coffee. it was beautiful. the water was calm and the sun is beautiful. could have stayed there all morning!!

older son working until 4pm so we'll have dinner tonight together.

what are you doing today? hope you and everyone else reading has a nice day. to all the mums - happy mothers day.
