Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

It sounds so overwhelming @BlueBay ❤️

It can feel impossible to even think about rest when our nervous system is so alert.

I'm sitting with you, Bluebay. Go gently with yourself, it sounds like you are going through so much at the moment.

I wonder if reaching out for some support today might be helpful? Someone to help you hold that load, even for a moment.

Hi @Former-Member

hubby is putting too much pressure on me with this new house we’re buying

he’s thinking that we have to spend too much

it’s hard for me to cope

it’s a huge step buying

but I’ve never been so stressed like this

I thought that I would need to go to hospital last night with my throbbing headache and chest discomfort

i need to shut the world out for a while

Hiw do I do that @Former-Member

@trying to rest in bed but I can’t rest

my head is throbbing so much

then hubby rings with all these different suggestions or even cancelling the contract of sale

I just can’t think

Re: Need to vent

@BlueBay I hear you desperately needing to turn down the volume on all the chaos and uncertainty you're feeling at the moment. I really wish I had more answers for you ❤️

If you feel up to it, I really encourage you to reach out to one of the SANE counsellors over phone or by chat today (or any accessible service you feel comfortable with), it can be helpful to have someone to listen and help explore some of these questions coming up for you.

Just so you know, I'm wrapping up my shift now, please take care and reach out as you need ❤️

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BlueBay,

I really feel for you - buying a house would have to be one of the most stressful times in my life. The last time we bought a house I was 6 months pregnant - it took 3 months for the house to exchange so my son was 6 weeks old when we moved in so I understand how overwhelming it can feel.

Is there someone you can talk with today, someone you can have a coffee with. It sounds (understandably) like you are really overwhelmed.

Please take care of yourself - you know there are many people on the forums that care about you and support you.

Warm wishes,

FloatingFeather

Re: Need to vent

hi @FloatingFeather

thanks for your understanding. Gee that would have been tough for you with a baby.

i can't find a way to calm my mind

maybe i need a bath

my headache is still here

we have just emailed the agent and told him that my health isn't good and need to cancel our contract. but our solicitor said that we could possibly lose our $1,000 holding payment. we are now waiting for a reply. i hope we get our money back.

gosh my head hurts, i need to do something, take something extra

@FloatingFeather the last few days have been horrible. from one extreme of emotion of happiness and excited to now a complete drop to a negative very down emotion. it's been a roller coaster of emotions.

i just want to disappear, run, hide. ok maybe i will have a bath.

Re: Need to vent

Yes, it wasn't easy with a little baby @BlueBay but we got through it and you will too. It's just this part is really hard and unsettling, I know. You described it well when you said it's been a rollercoaster of emotions.

I really do hope you get your deposit back to.

A bath sounds like a good idea, particularly when you have such a bad headache.

I just want to check you are okay - so I am going to send you an email privately to check in with you. Please respond when you can.

If you do need any crisis support now or in the future please contact any of the following on this link https://saneforums.org/t5/Need-Help-Now/ct-p/need-help-now.

Take care of yourself.

Big Hugs,

FloatingFeather
