Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

I am happy that you are reflecting on what our service can/can't provide @BlueBay - this is important to help you get the most out of the service and helps you set healthy boundaries.

In terms of whether you are posting 'too much'? No. There is no quota on how many posts you can post. It is about maintaining a healthy balance between your online and offline supports.

As you mentioned, you are aware that we refer you to crisis lines when things get very tough. This is not to prevent you from seeking support on the forums, but to guide you to access a service/s that you deserve in times of crisis e.g. Lifeline, BeyondBlue. Also, our forums are largely community run which means we want the forums to be a place where people feel safe to 'hang out'. Distressing/distressed posts may be triggering to some readers.

For some members, in times of major crises, they may send an email to us requesting that a pause be placed on their account so that they can seek crisis services. Other members limit themselves with what they post during difficult times. This is your call.

We are more than happy to work with you to determine some healthy boundaries when using the forums - if you so wish.

But definitely, we embrace you as a community member and care very much about what is happening for you. You are a valued member 🙂

Re: Need to vent

Its always a pleasure to see you here and posting @BlueBay . I know its hard for you right now. And I also know from personal experience that its during the harder times that we feel we most need to be here and when we need the support of our friends here. Please never feel you post too much or that you may be a burden to others here. Nobody here is obliged to respond. I would respond much more than I do, but I have been so busy and distracted lately with all that is going on in my own life, that I just haven't been on here much. But I have been checking in a couple of times a day. I always read posts that I am tagged in, so please keep tagging me in. I want to know how you are going ... the good and the bad.

Yeah I agree with you both @tyme @BlueBay that I don't think anybody has a great life all the time. Everyone must have the good and the bad. Maybe some people ride out the ups and downs a little better than you and I do? Even things out a little perhaps? I don't know. But I do know you have hit a lot of hurdles of late - health, family and emotional stuff. It all takes a toll @BlueBay . Please don't disappear, because I know you need the connection of your friends here. But if you do take a break, make it a short one and come back to us safe and sound. Take care of your health and your welfare.

Emelia 💞🤗

Re: Need to vent

Thanks @Emelia8 you have been a great support to me as others on here have too.

i don’t want to go away from here

I need connection with others especially when I'm struggling

I know you are very busy with your life and I do see you support me. You have so much on your plate.

thanks @tyme I appreciate your help and support.

I’ve just got too much stress on my plate at the moment. From bank appts to looking for another home is so stressful as you would know @Emelia8

and then all I want is peace and quiet no noise but hubby keeps talking about money and houses. It’s doing my head in.

i can’t deal with all this stress. No wonder my blood pressure is extremely high.

Re: Need to vent

Another night of not much sleep

awake at 3.30; 5.00 and up at 6am.
so much on my mind from house, bank, money and my mum.

this is why I don’t cope because I need a good amount of sleep.

then I get cranky and emotional.

Hi everyone

@tyme @Shaz51 @Emelia8 @Paperdaisy @Snowie @hanami abd others following

another stressed day

looked at a townhouse one street back from the beach. Nice but the body Corp is ridiculous. All these rules regulations. It’s now turned us off.

Im panicking because I feel we need to hurry up snd buy something.

i slept twice today. First this morning snd then early afternoon. Hoping I can sleep better tonight but I somehow doubt it with all the stress in my head.
