Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

Aw @BlueBay

You are having a rough time and I wish there was something I could do to help but alas - all I can do is listen and I do, And I am glad the medical profession is doing something to help. I am not sure if you are in hospital or not

The name of the condition they are investigating is temporal arteritis - that's imflamation of the temporal arteries and yes - this does need to be investigated and no wonder you are worried. And of course you are scared - I would be too. It's really horrible to be having all this happen

I read what your supervisor wrote on Facebook. That was indiscrete and really out of line. And yes - the company needs to know what she is doing because other people and not just yourself might be the victim of this woman's lack of discretion. No need to worry about that right now - or worry about getting another job - you need to take as much rest as possible

I don't know what causes Temporal Arteritis - I will look this up later - and I know it's not easy not to stress about this -

We are here for you though - and we really care about you -

Sending my best thoughts

Re: Need to vent

Sorry you are having those thoughts @BlueBay 😔

Smart lady .. Yes its definitely a good idea to talk to someone about it. Whether that be your GP, psych or the Suicide Call Back Service or similar. Best to counter those thoughts early, and not allow them to grow. Please do take care my friend.

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BlueBay

I am sorry you are feeling so unhappy - I have had health problems - I can't imagine what you are going through with yours - mine are mostly orthopaedic and I am happy enough with the devil I know - and where you are with so many tests and issues with your physical and mental health it must feel like the end of the line sometimes -

But it's not - you have been telling your doctor that something has been wrong for a long time and now it's got to the stage where you are having tests and something is obvious now and you are been taken seriously

But it's not time to end it all - it never is - it's a terrible way to feel and it's also good that you have shared it

But one day at a time and talk to someone about it - try Life Line and when you get someone on the line go straight to the point and get someone to listen - it's anothe long weekend so yes - you do need to chat - maybe several times

We are all here for you and we love you - every inch of the way - so hold on and get things done as they arise - and rest is important right now

Wishing your the best

Hi @Owlunar

I'm sorry I haven't replied earlier. I had a shift at work yesterday and I came home with a sore back. I think I hurt it the night before holding Ayla asleep and going down stairs. I'm sure she weighs about 15kg.
might need a good massage.

then yesterday it was my daughters 29th birthday. She invited two of her close friends for dinner. Her partner came and my son brought his new partner. My daughter wanted pizza so we ordered quite a few. It was such a nice night. Meeting my sons partner for the first time. She got along with everyone so well. She's in the same profession as my son. My son is leaving in the morning to the border of Wodonga. He's been pulled out from his two week annual leave. But that's ok he'll get his leave back. This is all part of the job.

his partner bought a nice bottle of wine and when she left I mentioned that she's welcome anytime and to come for dinner. She was taken back snd gave me a big hug saying "oh that's so lovely Thankyou"

we chatted snd laughed that we didn't realise it was 12.45sm. It was really past my bedtime!!! the boys were msking jokes because I'm usually in bed by 9.30pm.
as a result I'm very tired tiday. My back is still a bit sore. It's lower.
and you know the best bit was seeing my daughter so hsppy with her partner. He bought her a beautiful necklace. First time she's received a gift. Her ex never bought her a present. Never.
this new guy is a keeper.

im laying on the lounge typing. It's humid agsin after sll thst rain we had overnight snd this morning. I had a headache earlier and my BP was high so I had a little sleep.
Oh littke A is toilet trained snd gave her dummy to Santa. Toilet training took only a few days. So good.

haven't heard from my mum since I saw her last week. She didn't even ring my D fir her birthday. Makes me angry.

I've got an appointment on Thursday at doctors to have 24 hr blood pressure machine. Then return on Friday.

I've really got to try to have these good moments stuck in my mind. To remind me how blessed I sm to have such good children. I'm so grateful.

how are you doing @Owlunar

xxxxxooo

Re: Need to vent

That's a wonderful post @BlueBay - I was so glad to read it - and that you had a good day - fantastic

You really do have a lot to live for - such a wonderful family - this is a hugh plus - and I am happy that you have so many people in your life -

Yes - you do have your bad moments - and sometimes it seems as if the moments are very long - you can't help your emotions but you can learn to manage them

I saw something about mindfulness on TV - and it is worth learning about and practising - I know I do - I have for a long time and it does become a habit - it would be great if you could find a therapist to help you with that - habits like that strengthen the brain and it works for people and I will swear to that.

But well done

And it's really important not to let yourself get caught up with your mother and her games - she must get some kind of payoff - whatever that is - I never figured out my mother and her rules and grudges - and at her funeral - sheesh - everyone kept talking about this sweet little old lady and I know better - I hope they mention some of my faults when I am gone because that is more interesting - I am sure

Today - I went out and pruned a bit of the garden which is totally out of control - I need to get someone to come in and tidy it up - it looks like the Day of the Triffids out there - and I am losing the clothes line more and more each day. No joke

But I have over-done - I certainly know my shoulder is blinky and wonky - and it always will be - I had injections into my knee just before Christmas and that's a lot better - so yeah - I am improving - it's just taking time

Keep up the good work - or did I already say that

Sending hugs
