Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Hi everyone @oceangirl @Jynx @Snowie @Emelia8 @Eve7 @Shaz51 @Anastasia @MDT @grayhorn

dad still in hospital. Kidney issues with gout.
not allowed to eat any red meat or fish. Only white meat.

I called mum this morning and suggested if she was home alone today we would go over for a coffee. What a joke!!

her answer was “look leave it as I haven’t heard yet from your sister and brother, they will most likely come over”.
what about me???

aren’t I a daughter? A child part of a family.

I got off the phone snd burst into tears 😭

I’m staying home with my beautiful kids today. Not worrying about her.
I don’t know when dad leaves hospital but when he does I will go over. And if she stops me or delays it I’m going to have it out.
I can’t take this torture of rejection anymore.

Oh dear @BlueBay ... I am so sorry ... that mother of yours!!!! There are no words to adequately describe my thoughts on that, so I wont even try. One thing I am thankful for though, is that her toxicity has not rubbed off onto you. You are such a good mum to your children and your grandchild. Please try not to allow this special day to be spoiled by your mother. Enjoy your Mothers Day and let your kids and little A shower you with much deserved love and attention.

@Eve7 ... how are you getting along in hospital? Is the rehab progressing okay for you? I think you mentioned you hoped to get home this Wednesday. Is that still the aim? I hope your son is getting along okay with that dreaded strain of 'man' COVID. I believe its particularly nasty, and similar in many respects to the 'man' flu.

I have been lucky in that I have had only mild symptoms from the start .... mild aches in the hands, sore throat (kind of deep in the voice box), mild headache, dry cough, sneezes for about 3 days ... all of which I put down to a cold. Which seemed to be confirmed when my RAT tests continued to test negative even 3 days after symptoms arose. It wasn't until I was well on the mend (day 5) and symptoms resolved, that I finally tested positive in a RAT test. So perhaps I just had a very low load of virus and it wasn't enough to register? Anyway, I was careful and wore a mast on the couple of occasions I had to go out.

@BlueBay I'm glad it appears your Dad is okay and that it requires only a change in diet to return him to good health. Gout can cause a number of issues, I know. My husband had gout as well, and was on preventative medication for many years. It worked well, but he still needed to watch his diet and not overindulge in some foods which could trigger his gout. I hope he gets home soon. I am unaware of any ways that you could 'legally' insist on seeing your Dad despite your mothers interference. Perhaps it could be worth asking legal aid to see if there are any avenues you could explore. I know that may seem extreme, but things do seem as though they are getting out of hand. And you are suffering a whole lot as a result. There must be a way around this ... surely. 🌸

hi @Emelia8 @Eve7 @oceangirl @Snowie @Shaz51 @Anastasia @grayhorn @MDT and others

I’m one lucky mum

my beautiful daughter bought me flowers and two tickets to see Anthony Callea tonight in the city. Her words in the card made me cry. She also bought me Alex fevola book. Then little A gave me a card she made at kinda.
my older son organised beautiful flowers to be delivered. And he bought cake.
younger son not home home from his short trip away with girlfriend.

we had egg and bacon for brunch, coffee and then indulged in scones that my daughter made.
Nice morning.

I feel so blessed to have three amazing adult children. So proud to be their mum.

this is what counts!!!! ♥️♥️♥️
